Who's on top in D-II XC this year?

thank you coach, for telling me what I'm in need of. You must be the most threatened republican of them all due to your quick response. Did something I say sting a little. Yes your right, I should follow the rules, mind my manners and never dare to speak of such irrelevant issues again. That is what the bible says right. Why don't you worry about coaching your lousy team, and what the "black box" most americans look to for answers, the t.v., has to say next. Your the type of person who probably thought MLK was an unemployed "rambler" as well.

OK that was a nice little discussion to get our minds thinking "outside the box." But lets start talking about DII running again. Can anybody give me some good info about the top 5 or 6 teams in the East Region. I run in the region and my excited ass can't wait until Kutztown to see all my PSAC buddies. What I am really looking for is who does eveybody think can be in the Top five at conference and regionals.

What does the NCC look like this year? I know that SDSU and Mankato should be strong again, what about USD? They seemed to slip last year but I've heard it was due to injuries. Who's going to come out on top at the conference meet?

Firstly I don't want anyone to take anything I have to say the wrong way, but this is really starting to annoy me.The last time I cheked the Western State College men's Team won 3 national championships without Paul Kez. And to say that Coach Vandenbusche is "an arrogant asshole who doesn't know anything about running" is completely absursd. For satrters he has been coaching for 30 years and Mike has been apart of the program for going on 5. It doesn't take common sense to know that in 30 years you will learn a thing or two. Secondly Paul Kezes isn't even apart of the Western Washington team yet, he is moving to Washington at the end of August or early September, so he's not going to even run cross this year. Also your fact about Vandenbusche and Gunnison not being a place for people of color is also absurd. In Vandenbusches 30 years of coaching he has coached people like Eduardo Navis (Former National Coach for Venezuela as well as National champ in threemile NAIA), Juan Diaz (Former All American), Sam Seale (Former Western State Sprinter Played 9 years of NFL football), Tuma Oro(Former NAIA National Champion Cross Country), Elva Dryer(2000 Olympian Multiple Time NAtional Champion indoors and outdoors, member of the 2nd place Womens World Cross Country Team) Liz Robles( member of the 2000 Womens National Championship Team) and that is just to name a few. I mean you obviously have never been to Western let alone Gunny, so really your whole argument is based on what you have been told rather than fact. If you have ever been to a Western State practice or even heard Vandenbusche speak you would know that he is an "Equal Opportunity Employer" it really doesn't matter to him if you are black, white, asian, green, purple, or blue. So really do your homework before making bogus claims about the Western State coaching staff, the team, of the city of Gunny, because your argument will then have a lot more validity and make more sense.

I came to see what the problem was right away:

To set matters strait lets start by stateing that who ever is posting must not know me very well. The truth is I WAS TOLD that I was not welcome back. Fine I'm dealing with it. My chemistry and actions aren't what you call Discipline, and some people get mad at that aspect of me. Man I will miss the folks at WSC cause "you good people", all of you I"m cool with. It don't matter what # you are to me. I hold no grudges with Vandenbusche, he's a good man in fact. His patients is tested at the slightest infraction though, add quite a few of those up, not to mention ones he never found out about, and you've got a pissed off old man that doesn't want to "Talk it Out."

I've worked hard in the past so I know what it takes, I'm no super star, just a squirrel trying to get a Nut. Maybe I'll get better, maybe I won't, who cares! Peace, and let me live my hippie life @ 10,000ft for the final 11 days here at Taylor Park. (Subliminal shot-out to WB ;) ).

Racial inequality is a big problem today and will probably always be. However, it still has nothing to do with your arguement about Kezes!!! Sorry you spoke before you knew what you were talking about. Remember the message board is for letsrun, not letsrun our mouths.

Speaking of the NCC, do any of you know that Coach Munsen left USD for the head track/cc position at Morningside. Anybody know what the deal is? More $$ or what?

I second all the comments about Coach Vandenbusche. He doesn't put up with any crap. That's his business and I aint in it for sure, but as Mr. Kezes pointed out, if he (or any coach for that matter) knew everything their runners did, it would make us all mental. Although, we aint stupid and most of us have been on the other side of the desk.

Who did Adams get in for men and women. Can't wait to see DII nationals at Ashland (just a 45 minute drive from home!!)

In the individual race, look out for Nick Cordes from Ashland. He's very very fit and can finish well if it's a close race. Might have to if anyone from Abilene is up there (as I would expect).

some insight from the hills of west virginia.....the regional meet is being held at Canaan Valley Ski Resort, so you can bet on the hills being as tough, if not tougher than Slippery Rock. The reason being this, is that the WVIAC XC Champs are perennially held on a challenging course, and then at the regionals, wv teams don't have the speed to run on the golf courses etc. two individual national qualifiers have come out of wviac in the last two years. last year's qualifier, mikey guinn, is a redshirt at univ. of charleston. watch out for ricky moore at wheeling jesuit, who returns from a variety of crap. ben bolock, a soph out of alderson broaddus has held off moore in a few road races this summer. he may be tough. as for outsiders from wviac, watch for ex-NAU runner Paul Moore from wviac-host, west virginia wesleyan, as he usually holds his own with the big dogs....we'll be watching.

I was just wondering about the Southeast Region. Who is supposed to be the top teams/individuals there?? I've seen a lot of stats from all of the other regions except for the Southeast.

western state women should rack up rather nicely. look for the mars hill guys to be a distant second.
