I know it would be a long shot. That is my slim “but what if” hope. I hope Addy does go in planning to challenge and not be intimidated by Keely. That is the only way US women are going to have any chance on the world stage. There are finally some going to world events that want more than just to be there.
If Keely goes 1:55 pace trying to challenge her would most likely mean not getting a medal. That would be stupid, not brave.
He's only run 1:48 this season. How did he run so well in the 1500? He doesn't have supreme 3000 strength either
That’s a split from his 1K. He’s been prepping for the 1500. Garcia has always been a handful when he gets it right tactically. You can’t let him control a race or blast by you with under 300 to go. He doesn’t come back. But if you make him work early or have to make multiple moves he can unravel.
Makes sense. Didn't realize that. Just pulled him up on World Athletics and that was all I saw
That last lap the US could have used Hocker’s kick. Just saying.
Reminder that Hocker didn't make the 1500 team. His kick fresh would've been great, but he showed at USAs that after a hard 3k, he couldn't keep up with Green's kick. 6th in the world is a great result from Green, who is in his first year as a pro, and I don't think we can say Hocker (in the 2nd half of a double) would've done better. Now the worst of the UW trio may be Waskom, who I thought might be the best after making the US team as, like, a sophomore or something. Houser already snagged a medal, and Green was 6th today. Not to put down Waskom, I don't see why he couldn't do it either, just using him as a reference point.
Glad Waskom is having a bit of a better season than the past two so far
Nicely paced from Georgia! Didn’t go with the suicidal pace but didn’t let her get too far away. Held off Hull who did very well after running last night.
