Jakob sent a Snap from inside an airplane taxing at Oslo Airport at 9:40 a.m. today. This is consistent with an Air France departure to Paris, which aligns well with a direct onward flight to Cape Town with KLM. Both his wife and children were with him.

He's was on his way to the U.S. not South Africa. He connected on to SFO not CPT. Unfortunately he's here for medical treatment. Let's hope for a speedy recovery and he's competing again by Summer.

While I'm not treating him, I saw him today with my own eyes. I'm not going to give any details on what I saw or his apparent injury but he is currently in the Bay Area. I imagine from what I observed he'll stick around these parts for another 2-4 weeks for treatment. To say more would be reckless.
This is mostly interesting because while the USA has great medical care in some ways, they aren't exactly revolutionary for treating these kinds of injuries, due to different restrictions, laws or whatever.
Christian McCaffrey, who plays for the 49ers, ended up getting treatment for his achilles in Germany

Yep, in 2014-15 Usain Bolt travelled to Munich for treatment on his foot/leg injury.
