lol, I was watching the 10k world record last night for kicks and the announcer makes note of Jos being on the inside of the track yelling at Bekele the entire time. he talks about him like...4 or 5 times, it's pretty funny.

Why use Susy Favour Hamilton as an example of an athlete who is clean? I have no idea if she is or isn't but just becasue she never tested positive and she says "I am all for a clean sport" she's supposed to be drug-fre. Give me a break. I prefer to not even consider if someone is on something or they are not. Just enjoy the performances. Who give a $hit what they are on as long as they run fast. Wake up - this scandal in Spain will just prove what everone in the know knows - drugs are taken by a high percentage of athletes - top or otherwise. Big deal - I still love the sport.

I have never understood how this could be allowed as the country that I lived in, coaching from the inside of the track was disallowed and could lead to the athlete being disqualified.

If you want a WR, you had better have somebody the athlete knows, trusts and can understand giving splits and instructions. ALL the major meetings know it, and they all want records/fast times. Sure it's against IAAF rules, but that rule is NEVER inforced at any major meeting.
In Ostrava 2004, a meet official told Jos that he couldn't yell instructions to Bekele during his first 10000m WR -- Jos told him to 'f*** off.'

How does that make any sense? How much money does Kenya put into international athletics? Isn't the common gripe that African dominance is hurting track's popularity in Europe and the USA, which constitute the financial backbone of the sport? If anything, wouldn't they want to "crack down" on African runners so that European/American athletes can take center stage?

historically speaking, the east german state did have alot of info/research/practice in doping... the wall came down and well the expertise just migrated globally...
not saying Hermans is necessarily guilty, but I'm sure he probably knows someone who knows someone who knows someone with a hookup.... (also isn't Hermans the agent for alot of american athletes as well ?)
so that said, I'm sure there must be others that have connections to the spanish doping case... (managers, athletes, otherwise...)
