It’s much better than having a husband who’s addicted to video games, in my opinion. Or, god-forbid, golf.
I love that you wrote this. My wife and I have talked about how SO MANY of her friends are fine with their husbands leaving for 6 hours at a time to play golf a few times a week, but would never think it was normal for their husband take an hour to work out.
Here is a funny thing, though. Younger guys are viewing golf differently (12-25 years old). I don't play, but my youngest son plays with friends. It is a sport to them. They go to the gym and work out to be better at golf. He plays other sports more seriously, but some of his friends treat golf as their main sport.
Something most don't think about is that walking roughly 10k with a 40-pound bag on your shoulder is actually a great workout (it is rucking). Now... very few Boomers, Gen Xers, or even Millennials are walking the course, they are in carts drinking, but most younger guys view the walk as part of the game. I see my son get home covered in sweat after a few hours being social in a positive way, and I am fine with it. Hell, it beats Fortnite with Doritos and Baja Blast.
