I think Ollie should also leave OAC. Mario seems to be always injured too.
I actually think this is the million dollar question.
Ollie doesn't seem to see eye to eye with Ritz at all.
It's one thing having a freelance OAC athlete in boulder doing his own thing. it's another if a shadow training group forms a mile away all of whom will presumably want to maintain access to the Gym and treatment rooms being On athletes as opposed to OAC athletes
McDonald is a massively talented runner. Despite his injuries he's been able to show flashes of very high level performance. I really hope he can get back on top.
Pretty pleasant internet personality too. Whereas many professional athletes are boorish, self-centered or just very boring, he'd always nice to listen to.
Morgan is going back to Mick. It is common knowledge.
This is a much better situation. Morgan needs a Coach that will massage his ego. Morgan needs to be the top dog. Mick is being paid by Wisconsin and is comfortable with a little side hustle.

Will Morgan relocate to Madison or stay in Boulder? What about his contract with ON? Morgan's a nice guy but he's not saying everything....so many details missing

I was shocked that Morgan was the first to leave - I would've called Ollie. He is open and vocal about disagreements with Ritz on Coffee Club, and he's had a series of disappointments and underperformances. If I were Ritz listening to some of those podcasts I'd feel uncomfortable continuing the coaching relationship: it's clear Ollie is frustrated with his coaching.

moving to the roads really means "I should retire" but don't hav
We know he's trained recently with Woody -- who's moving to the roads next year, probably has already. Joining Mike Smith's group in Flagstaff would mean a change in sponsors, correctly stated above.
I hate to say it but for most people doesn't "moving to the roads" just mean - "Trying to eke out a final 2-3 year pay day/we're no longer relevant."
I mean Woody's whole thing on the track is his kick. He's also injury prone. What the heck is he going to do on the roads?
Roads = marathon. I guess NYC and Boston and Chicago all need someone to finish 8, 9th or 10th once the Africans drop out. And if you are the 10th best American in the marathon,, there's a slim chance you mkae the team but zero chance you make in the 5000 or 10,000.

There is more money on the roads than the track, and Woody's track career is most likely in the past at this point. He debuted in the half at NYC and it wasn't a great performance. I think with some more development he could be decent on the roads, but not sure about the marathon.

It seems like he’s doing the right thing and training while taking a bit of a sabbatical from the day-to-day of the group. Both Ollie/Morgan cited Jake Wightman. He was getting resentful and losing his relationship with his own dad and coach due to injuries and disagreements. Ollie and Ritz have had a lot of success and I think a real bond that’s been tested. If he feels their collaboration is becoming unworkable after some time away then yes it might be time to go. That’s how Wightman felt obviously. But it’s also possible to me that that’s not the case, and he switches the philosophy to train a little more with Ky/5K folks, gets more buttoned up on his diet/sleep etc and it’s a great situation with Ritz. OAC offers a ton, and I wouldn’t punt on it lightly.
This is correct. Urban is and always will be the primary coach. We collaborate together on many high performance aspects and have unlocked many key areas the last year which has led to big success. It’s a great dynamic and the last year has proven it’s working just great all the 3 of us together !! Maybe our boy Morgan needs a couple people help him in a similar way.

I reckon San Diego pulling out of hosting the world road champs had obscured the rise of non marathon road running..
I think some kind of significant "Super" halves and 10kms will become established and quite lucrative even in that the big dogs can turn up, run and recover in time for the next one. I really think the primacy of the marathon will reduce significantly over the next 5 or 10 years
