Just spoke to Jonathan Gault in the press area. He's one of the only members of the media that is covering this as a legit sporting event (there are only like 8-9 people in there).
It's important to note that the tracking/leaderboard app for Chicago is somehow missing the entire lead group. The tracking page shows Mantz in the leading group at 5k. That's not true.
54 degrees, sunny. 9 mph wind out of the SE at start of race.
4:25 first mile! That’s 1:55 marathon pace. Bit of a tailwind there.
13:58 first 5k. Leading group of 5 – Korir, Kiplimo x2, Kiplagat, Kipruto. That's 1:57:52 pace!!
Mantz is is in the 2nd group at 14:23. That's 2:01;23 pace!!242 -
This tailwind is pushing hard. Hope it dies down when they swing back around on the second half of the course

Looking at searchable results/progress for each of them, Centro thru 5K in 16:42. I am not seeing anything at all for Rupp, as it is showing he has not started. Perhaps there is something wrong with the tracking as it it's hard to think he would be a DNS, but it's a little concerning.

Rupp was 15:00 at 5k with CJ, Clinger, etc.
