She doesn't care because she is personally paid very well. The Grand Slam fiasco is a perfect example. She could use her voice to advocate for other athletes who need the unpaid prize money. But she remains silent because she is already paid enough in appearance money.
At least that's the perception, and she has not done anything to reverse it.
I'd add to this, SML and Bobby Kersee have been extremely quiet on GST. She was the first athlete signed up.
I'd like to see the GST financials because I bet SML got paid and most of the other athletes didn't.
It's not fair to assume Sydney got paid prize money while other athletes didn't. Gabby Thomas was one of the first athletes to sign up for GST, and in July she indicated she hadn't been paid. It's highly unlikely that GST would have paid Sydney without paying Gabby.
As for "using her voice to advocate," GST clearly has no money. What is there to advocate? This isn't an issue of GST withholding funds. It's an issue of them being broke.

No one with half a brain believes anything Gabby says. As for Sydney, never mind her PED reliant coach. If nothing else, she is completely lacking charisma. She has zero.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, everyone who disagrees with you must be a racist in your little head.
People don't like her because she's obnoxious, especially on her religious beliefs, and has a condescending attitude to everything and everyone. She comes off as a jerk, which many people find unattractive.
I've had debates on here with people trying to tell me slavery was good. AND the thread wasn't deleted. This is definitely a racist site or at least many of the forum members

Also of note, the racist posters usually don't register a username...even on an anonymous forum. No balls

Yeah yeah. You DF guys want registration, then you apply more behind the scenes pressures or rewards for every person’s PI. It never changes.
1) super boring: she wins and there’s no excitement, I find her personality dull, not funny, makes it not fun for me to watch her
2)doesn’t challenge herself: pretty much never races, doesn’t try the double, doesn’t do the mixed relay
3) religion: many athletes thank god. Her pastor told women being abused by their husbands Jesus wanted them to suffer and if they got divorced they would be shunned from the church. When one woman left her husband (who went to jail for child abuse and molestation) they held a service shaming her. He was against gay people saying it’s a bad choice they’re making
4)no team praise: Anna cockrell gave Dalilah such praise, even femke speaks highly of Sydney all the time. Sydney talks about herself, and sometimes Bobby . She’s not on a team training with others.
Disliking her for not attempting the 400h + 400 double seems absurd to me
Do you know how demanding that would be?
It's not like the 100m + 200m
"Do you know how demanding that would be? Yup. One day collage conference championship meet a long time ago:
There aren't many on here with real disdain for SML.
There's one user, perhaps a few, who can't deal with the fact that she took a hot NFL-level guy off the market, and now he/they pester her through mostly unregistered accounts.
This needs to stop. There are plenty more fish near the on-ramp to the 405 by W Century Blvd. Leave Sydney alone.
She doesn’t race a ton and she didn’t really branch out a ton until now which i’m happy about because the 400hurdles wasn’t very fun with her demolishing everyone. Grand Slam also got her to race more which was nice
I think she’s a very attractive introvert who doesn’t race a lot but when they do they dominate. I’m not sure what the former does to the brains of LetsRun posters, but the latter reminds me of a prize fighter who fights once or twice per year for millions of dollars — it’s easy to not like those people, even if they get the viewers/clicks.
She doesn’t seem very relatable. Unlike a Nuguse, for example, who has a indoor world record, but he loses plenty. He’s extremely friendly in interviews and constantly smiles even when he has a bad race.
Once she started competing frequently earlier this year, most of the hate threads disappeared. She could be a model and has widespread popularity, but that's not it. There are plenty of religious athletes out there. Alan Culpepper used to get some criticism for not competing in Europe. Kersee is a problem for her popularity among track aficionados because they think he dopes his athletes, but at the very least, he plays mind games with them and doesn't let them compete in Europe. Bottom line, she's the greatest women's 400m hurdler of all time and it is not close and she does almost nothing but win golds for the U.S., so we should support her.
Also, she clearly has a great deal of anxiety about racing and as a perfectionist cannot really appreciate her races in the moment, so she does not show that joy we are looking for. A little understanding should cover this, however. Anyone with a teenage daughter may recognize that some put a great deal of pressure on themselves and so don't conform to the social expectation.
I thought it was the city itself, and was going to say there's a default disdain of the place from anyone beyond metro Sydney (esp as a Melburnian - relax, just taking the pi$$). I guess we both crapped the bed on this one, didn't we?
Women's 400h was a fringe event until her attractive high-schooler vibe took it up. Del Muhammad was great, and largely unknown.
She captured the marketers. Then parcelled out her racing.
She has talent. But her real step now us 400 flat, and her psyche doesn’t fit. Don't blame coach. What makes her great at 400h is her kryptonite at 400 flat
What makers her great at the hurdles that you say is her kryptonite at the flat?
At worst she will probably get third at Worlds
If that's the case is that really down to "kryptonite" or the fact Paulino and Naser are incredibly fast athletes?
I don’t want to align myself with people who feel any disdain for her.
But if some people are rankled by her supporters using the word “towards” where “toward” would have been fine, I’d walk across the aisle to side with morality and justice.

UK vs USA
Didn't know semantics were such an issue lol
I suppose you didn’t spend enough time in deep reflection whilst on the loo.

I'm sure you believe it is a racist website, and therefore also believe, as you expressed earlier, that anyone who expresses unfavorable sentiments about McLaughlin-Levone is lying as to their expressed reasons and are really just a racist.
I think you're wrong on both counts, and that you just impulsively allege racism whenever someone says something you disagree with.

Reasonable enough in some way. But you say “racist website.” That would be a very broad allegation. You then get to upbraid OP for a proclivity to “impulsively alleged racism whenever …”
Do some people demonstrate the failings you point to? Sure.
Does OP, or would OP? I have little idea.
I won’t assert that the point is true, but if OP noticed something about 51% of posts her opining on the performance of Black runners, took that perception, and then at least roughly weighed that against the performance of runners, then, OP might feel secure enough in advancing an opinion about a particular runner.
In that hypothetical, does that make this a “racist website”? Nope. Would OP then suggest that this is a “racist website”? I highly doubt it.
So that would also be a likely weak investigation for OP. But I’d still consider it far likelier that OP would find a racist individual than that anyone could find evidence of this being a racist site.
And then imagine more posts following. And an onlooker trying to determine the motives of each poster.
Do we necessarily land on an end point of a poster being unbelievably racist?
Nope.
It would be a weird and highly unusual situation for us to find circumstances that would enable us to call this a “racist site” (within reason).
But I’ll also say that it’s not at all unlikely that in a given year 1-2 posters will say something racist. And probably many more posters.
But very few are affiliated with the ball club. And fewer still speak in a way that we could construe as representing the views of the ball club.
So I hope you’d do research and be very confident before levelling accusations of very unseemly activity before anyone who might appear to be innocient .

WTF are you even talking about? The guy I was responding to called this a "racist site." His words not mine. I disagreed with him. You then responded with a coked up, rambling and confused post with points unknown to the reader, even after careful review.
