A little short film where he talks about playing the hand you’re dealt. Definitely gives the impression he’s planning to go all-in on both the 1500m and the 5000m.
Agree with both of these comments. JI is the 21st century equivalent of Ron Clarke in several ways. He pushes the pace and isn’t afraid of defeat, races frequently (except of course this year), even if not at 100%. He has set the stage for the rush of sub 3:30s, just like Clarke raised standards for the 5000 and 10000 (first runner under 28 min.).
With one important difference: Clarke didn´t have Jakob medal harvest.
But don´t tell Armstrong.
Clarke had a feast of world records at the championship distances. Outdoors, Jakob has none.
Legendary. No runner in history is Jakob. He is the hero we NEVER COULD be worthy of
Thank you God for answering my prayers.
El G's 7 WC 1500 titles to Jakob's zilch suggests the Almighty hasn't really answered your prayers.
Dun take him seriously as he is probably an American sawit. The data speaks for itself Jakob Olympic victory in 2021 was a fluke and if you run the race 3 different times you will get 3 different winners. Kerr was not far off from Jakob in that race.
Jakob will never break the 3:26.00 world record, but he has shattered the letsrun record for most threads and posts about a runner who missed 5 months of the outdoor track season. I've never seen so many words about a runner who has raced so little. His words to meters raced ratio this season is bonkers.
strange that people still pay attention to people who are out when they actually take on professional responsibilities and don't hide from the fans. How much does Nike love this guy?
Girls do tend to talk more than guy athletes. Jakob has exceeded the baseline for the girl athletes like Keelly Hodgekinson and Shaccari. He isn’t trying not to hide from fans or updating them on his whereabouts and training, he is a melodrama prima donna sawit.
I cannot believe how people do not put more respect on Jakobs name.
2021-2024 his medal count:
2021 1500m gold
2022 1500m silver 5k gold
2023 1500m silver 5k gold
2024 5k gold (1500m 4th)
how many other runners have a resume like this 4 years back to back. the reason why he is talked about so much on LRC despite not racing is because he is simply the best middle distance runner atm. the competition is forced to adapt even when he is not present just because the fact that he might be present changes up the race.
For a guy who talks a lot of sh!t and SWEARS he is going to win gold at every championship, he sure hasn't done so since 2021.
Literally has been getting HUMILIATED at every WC or OLY since 2021.
"the best middle distance runner atm" be so fr 🤣 He runs one 3:26 with pacelights and just about every tool there is to help him, and that makes him the best? LMFAO!!
This dude's glaze needs to be studied.
He is not the favorite going into any event he's racing.
You get a like because we talked about that earlier together and you have personally convinced me he is the most premature 1500m goat of all time. He makes people believe he is going to win but doesn’t actually win. You mentioned El G said he was not sure he was going to win in 96, 00, 04 and he went on to win 04. What a difference words make. The words have the power to haunt you on the start line.
Plus he sort of changed the way the whole world trains. Not HIS system but he has made it famous.
It’s not the training. El G didn’t have double threshold or maybe he did because his easy runs were 3:10per km tapered down to 2:50 at the end? He did that twice a day everyday so he has a double threshold nearly everyday. Jakob can’t manage such paces daily because he is fragile as a sawit. He just about has every aid technology can offer him and he still only does double threshold twice a week compared to El G 7 days a week. Come back to me when this sawit is able to log double thresholds daily with no fatigue.
The way athletes respond to different types of training is way too individualized to be able to claim the Norwegian system or any other system makes runners more or less injury prone.
Andreas Almgren went from being injured every season throughout his entire career to not having any major injuries after switching to the Norwegian system, and fulfilled his potential of becoming the fastest European in history in the 5000 and 10k.
He has an aid to suddenly stop becoming injured don’t you think? The Norwegian system is not any less strenuous than the other systems you said it yourself so why should he stop getting injured suddenly? Think bicarb sawit!
For a guy who talks a lot of sh!t and SWEARS he is going to win gold at every championship, he sure hasn't done so since 2021.
Literally has been getting HUMILIATED at every WC or OLY since 2021.
Huh?
He literally has a gold from every single OG or WC, 2021-2022-2023-2024.
That's four in a row.
Any other runners who can say that?
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
He won medals that don’t matter much for him. He is still unsatisfied he has said it himself and we imprison him in his own words by holding him further embarrassed that he couldn’t win his pet event. Due to this reason we can all safely say this sawit has won zero medals at every OG and WC except Tokyo 2021.

If Jakob is fragile as a sawit how come he ran nearly 6 sec faster than El Guerrouj in the 3000m after being injured for 5 months in his base period?
When an athlete steps away because of a perceived injury, people complain. When an athlete keeps their status vague, people complain. And when an athlete grinds and puts it all on the line, people still complain. Jakob deserves some grace from the track community. He’s a great athlete who isn’t shying away from competition. He’s striving for greatness, working to cement his legacy, yet most of what I see are complaints about his training or what others think he should be doing.

Records get taken away, medals are forever.
That's a shame, because Jakob hasn't won WC gold in his main event. His losses are forever. His few records, on the other hand, will be taken away - as you say.
Jakob will never break the 3:26.00 world record, but he has shattered the letsrun record for most threads and posts about a runner who missed 5 months of the outdoor track season. What a bad post.
He literally won double gold at European AND World Championships indoors, as well as winning Euro XC.
That's more gold than all of his competitors combined.
