I don't wear deodorant and I'm not saying I never smell. But I figure when I run I sweat out most of the bad smelling stuff and I run every day and take a shower. I might sweat and smell a little during the day but it's not as bad as someone who never runs and is just stewing in toxic crap.
65 yr old widowed man here. I don't wear deodorant anymore at all. People at the gym say I smell. Maybe this is why I can't get a GF? 🤔 (though I've heard a man's natural scent is supposed to turn on women?).
The main reason for no GF is that you're a 65 y o Letsrunner talking about your status on Letsrun.
But you being smelly doesn't help.
So if I start using deodorant & maybe some aftershave could that improve my chances? 🤔

If you travel the world, which obviously you don't, you'd find yourself in many places where everyone smells incredibly foul to you. But only to you, the foreigner. Noone else notices or cares.
So in the US this is mainly a cultural psyop by Big Hygiene to make you buy their products or be ostracized. Proctor and Gamble, mainly. Once everyone starts going nuclear on body odor, the slightest whiff is painfully noticeable to all.

I don’t use deodorant. Don’t use sunscreen either. I try to use as few products as possible. And I try to live as much like our ancestors as possible too.

You are conflating these genuine health concerns with mere body odor.
Having BO will not harm your health one bit.
Not brushing your teeth will make them fall out, not wiping your butt will spread disease, not exercising will make you fat and weak.

Deodorant is the biggest scam , haven’t worn it in decades and no one says I smell. You shower so why do you need deodorant? Anything you put on your skin absorbs into your blood, so why would you put harmful chemicals under your pits where your body absorbs easiest?
