I know that name, definitely a random guy to bring up but in the North East Ohio area I heard stories of the kid running like 150 mile weeks for two years until he got injured. He obviously has a screw loose which is what you need in this sport in a way. Top 5 is definitely steep but he will probably be contributing soon after I didn’t even know he was on the team until outdoor last year when he started racing.

Alright lets get serious here and quit giving Make a Wish kids too much attention. Right now here's what we know
Walsh can be a strong contender for winning gmac with a solid performance from the boys at the RMU colonial invite. The top five averages 24:51 with Foehl at 24:27. Strava's indicate the course was quite short ranging from 4.88 - 4.92 so add ~30s to their times but nontheless still a strong performance from Canton men. Foehl could be a indvidual medal contender at GMAC.
Hillsdale had a mixed bag performance at the Spartan invite. Phillips going 24:37 on a legit course is no joke but with a top 5 average of 25:38 shows that he's basically all they have. Considering Hillsdale found a way to snag the title last year, it wouldn't surprise me if they but together a stronger top 5 by conference time . Phillips could very well get top 3 or win
Cedarville has had a strong start to the season winning the All Ohio beating Ashland and Malone. 25:15 average time with both Joeys under 25. Runners 4-7 finished within 12 seconds of each other. Cedarville looks to have some serious firepower and depth but the Yellow Jackets have a tendency to never put it together when it really matters. If they do I can definitely see a top 3 finish with the current standings
After backing out of All Ohio last minute, Tiffin still has yet to show their cards. They did race at tiffelberg but it's clear they used it as a workout instead of a race
Although losing to Cedarville twice we can't sleep on Ashland. At all Ohio their top 3 went 3, 5, 7 which is kinda incredible they didn't win but a 5th man at 45th place really stings. If they get a better 5th man they'll be ready to do some damage
Findlay ran at the warrior challenge against the likes of Wayne State and Northwood. Long and Hadler as their top duo at 25:50s on what is probably a long course. Losing to Wayne state by 42 points.
Northwood also raced the warrior challenge but with an average time of 27:53 they had to have run a B team on something. Yet to see what they have
Malone hasn't been in great form recently but their very own president of the GMAC is sure to inspire some hope into them. They were actually winning the All Ohio at the 2 mile mark

These "Make a wish kids" are gonna end up being difference makers in the end. Don't think it was bad to point out someone that I think could be top 5 on a team that I think could get top 3 in the end. Maybe a bold prediction, but I'm willing to put my cards on the table. Malone will be ready

Malones looking good after this weekend with the new freshman star athlete, Medinuts, taking the show away from Schmidt and his crew! The team has some real potential for a top three in gmac after these hill shenanigans.
What did you guys think of the Wisconsin Parkside Meet? I think Tiffin has a great chance to win it all after their solid performance on the national course.

They will be a distant 3rd behind Walsh and Ashland. Del Mango’s two newest foreigners will be lucky to be top 50. It wouldn’t surprise me if they are fighting for top 5. My money is on the Eagles

Quite the action packed weekend with some good showdowns at Lock Haven and Parkside.
Tiffin had quite the day in Kenosha previewing the regionals/nationals course beating the likes of Wayne State, Illinois-Springfield, and Cedarville. RAMOOOOON Rodriguez placing second with a time of 24:13 on a slow course. This is likely a sub 24 performance making him a heavy favorite to take the individual GMAC crown. Ginane also finishing 7th in 24:38. An impressive duo but runners 3-5 placing 70, 105, and 114. Still a very impressive performance from the Dragons placing 10th at a very competitive pre-natties meet. Tiffin has a very good shot at the GMAC title but as we know from experience, it take more than two to win the conference (Findlay cough cough)
Also at the Lucian Rosa invite, Cedarville unable to continue their momentum from All Ohio placing 16th with no low sticks. Joey Carroll missing in action.
Over at Lock Haven, Walsh taking a narrow victory over Ashland by 1 point. The Cavaliers have some depth this year taking this victory without their ace Foehl.
Speaking of Ashland, a very similar performance to all ohio with their trio of Slater, Taylor, and Geist blowing it out of the park again placing 4, 5, and 8 all under 24:40. Ashland still a major threat if they can improve their 4 and 5
Northwood also placing 8th at Lock Haven with Grindrod leading the way, almost slipping below 25 minutes.
Findlay raced at Roberts Wesleyan placing second with top 5 averaging 25:16. No teams of interest were at this meet so hard to say if this means anything.
Malone, Ursuline and Lake Erie at Youngstown. Nothing of note but Malone’s very own Micheal Katula at 27:40 on a slow course. Will he be a contributing factor come Conference??

I just don't understand the Malone disrespect. seems like no one's talking about them in the thread, unranked in the region, etc. Probably a top 3 team in all of northeastern Ohio and not a word of hype. get ready to be proven wrong on October 23!!!!
Malone is very deep… Their 1-10 is all sub 26 on a normal course. They just need their top guys to run quicker. They just raced on the slowest cross course going in the state. They are the deepest team in the G Mac. Keep in mind Youngstown runs about 1:20 slow if not more.
Findlay and Malone are the two deepest teams in the conference right now
The ocean is very deep as well, and I never saw the ocean win a GMAC title. Unfortunately, there is no trophy for the deepest team.
What is going on with these regional rankings?
Michigan Tech at 4, but they've shown no sign of being better than the top teams in the GMAC. Walsh and Ashland should definitely be sitting ahead of them right now.
Ashland at 6, but Cedarville beat them last week. Cedarville isn't even in the top 10. Cedarville performed poorly at Parkside, but they were missing their top athlete. They clearly had a rough time racing back-to-back weeks as well. Why are they punished for this in the rankings?
Findlay hides and gets moved up to 7th after racing nobody.
Tiffin looked good, so props to them. 8th feels like a good spot.
Don't understand the Wayne State and Illinois-Springfield love either. They have been average at best.
Kenosha is not a slow course just fyi. Runs very true. Even with a lot of elevation, you come right down the hills you go up. Can easily run a 4:35 mile on both downhills.
Great run by Hillsdale today in Louisville. No Ross Kuhn but this performance puts Hillsdale as a top 3 threat.
Walsh still the favorite but it will depend if the Poopas Twins head over the hot tub the week of GMAC. What up's with Foehl?
Ashland with a formidable top 3. Need to clean up the 4-5. Hopefully they didn't peak too early. Slater will finish first in the hat category.

Malone's small spread will be a huge advantage for them. Hopefully Schmidt in the top 10. Maybe he should wear his hat backwards to be more aero to challenge Nate.
Findlay. I heard Wymer is going to enter them into the JV Race at conference so they can continue to avoid competition at all costs.
Tiffin will go 1-2 but let's be honest after that, they are as good as Talel's achilles. Del Mango can't develop and the British guys have been unimpressive. Douce is too busy trying to be Ondracek 2.0. Can't wait for Day 1000. Wouldn't be surprised to see them lose to Cedarville and potentially Northwood.

All these questions and more to be answered in the next few weeks, so get excited. After Lewis this weekend we’re on to the postseason. On a more serious note, I think Cedarville will be fine once they get Joey back. Don’t really understand all the panic on that end.
