Been watching Diamond League/Golden League for around 25 years. So one-dimensional, only taken seriously by a few runners and not gone anywhere the last 20 years or so.
The doubling isn't doing it for me.
The Diamond League can do better on its broadcast and still have big stadiums in Europe.
Give it some time - let them play about and work it out. They're trying something new - some will stick, some won't but we're getting four extra track meets a year and it's all good at heart
Looked insanely good when he moved up at 700m to go
Obviously fit and the big 3 there all rounding into shape
Goose almost going wire to wire pretty impressive too
There’s really no doubt Kerr was indeed hurt/sick. The question will be how much better he will get from here now that he’s fit and sharp. The others had really productive and mileage-heavy winters, and we’ll see if they progress more.

I sorta agree with this but there's no defending some of these camera angle choices.
Were the camera angles that bad for the first meet? Watching that 1500m was a horrible experience (even though it was a great race!). They tried to do all these bells and whistles with weird angles and "distance to go" on the screen. Please just keep it simple. I just want to see the entire race and get splits every 400m. We don't need to reinvent the wheel here.
I thought this league was supposed to be all about racing. Felt more like they wanted to show off their camera setups.
Either that or they don't have a great angle for the entire race and so they were forced to get creative.
Are they trying to hide the backstretch? Either that or there isn't the traditional camera on the finish.

Terrible take.
Over 95% of world records broken outside of the Olympics/WC happen on the DL.
It is taken seriously by... everyone with any knowledge.
Nonsensical argument. Barely any world records are broken at the Olympics/WR for good reason. Leads to the question what events would they be broken if not for DL? Continental Tour Gold? Lol. They've basically had a monopoly for ages. GST still needs a LOT of work to find the right format etc but they're moving in the right direction.
The stream I’m watching is lagging so much but Kerr looked incredible there, maybe he was actually sick/injured in Kingston?
Coming back from injury and illness. The guy didn't go to sh1t and fall to pieces since winning silver and running a PB at the Olympics, he had some rough months. The 1500 field is going to be like this: Jakob, Kerr, Hocker, and Nuguse are incredibly close and any of them could win on any given day. Anyone who says there's a favourite for Tokyo right now is a fool.
They called it 39.mid last 300, looked 53low for the full lap
Again just me or was that in eerily similar race to Kingston in terms of its construct? Slightly faster through 4/8, no Wanyoni there to use his superior power in the final 60m, today it was Kerr who wins because he probably handled the faster laps better, Nuguse second, Hocker third (just like Kingston). Again, it's an okay race but less drama and intrigue than the first one.
Anways, that will do for today - will probably watch the 3k later on the tube.

The problem with GST is that you can't force people to care about these races. At least the DL has the time dimension—races are set up for fast times, and times always have meaning regardless of venue. (DL wins also do have at least some meaning, because it's been around a long time and goes to historic tracks.)
This just feels like LIV Golf. The British announcer hyping up Kerr like he just won the Olympics is just so bad to listen to... just call the race honestly, fans can tell when you are forcing it.
