Does anyone know the status of Fred Kerley's legal troubles? I find it odd that they've mentioned him so many times given the bad press he's had recently.
One thing that is funny is GST brags about not having prelims.
But weldon just texted me and pointed out that basically the entire day is a prelim.
It's supposed to be simple and about rivalries yet we've had to watch a youtube video explaining it twice. Why in the world did we get the same video twice?
they gotta drop the 40 min pregame show and just get right into the races. smaller venues - give tix away. get fanduel and draftkings to offer odds on GST. just crank the dial to 11 on everything and let it rip
I believe a key strategic mistake they have made here is not opening up in Philly. It’s your best/most complete stadium that would look most legit on the hard cam and there were ways you get a “Penn Relays’esque” crowd in there at least for the launch night of your product. This is a tough look. Little things are going to matter here.
MJ's plan always centered around a London event. Which he couldn't achieve.
This will lose so much money.
A London meet is impossible at this time of year. West Ham are still playing so the track can't be installed at the London Stadium. He could have negotiated a meet in Birmingham where the stadium holds 18,000. It probably would have been near capacity as well, but UKA wouldn't enter into any cost-sharing arrangement because it's financially in the mud
Hey, let’s give this a chance. The series got amazing athletes to the line to race each other in early April and we get to watch it on tv. That’s a good start, and hopefully it can build from here.
Anyone who ran the Tokyo Olympics should feel right at home!
Re: $, GST's income from tv rights worldwide likely dwarfs ticket sales, so no fans in the stands is probably irrelevant.
However, visuals don't look good, so Michael Johnson should demand the camera operators refrain from using wide-angle lenses🙂
it's not irrelevant cuz it hurts tv too - ppl can see the empty stands on their tvs and it doesn't reinforce that they are watching a compelling athletic competition
i cant believe how empty this is. didnt they foresee that? did they not have a contingency plan to invite local high school teams or let people in for free if only for the optics? this just looks bad.
