2025 Stanford Invitational

Appreciate it. I wasn't sure what the eligibility status of a couple of the guys were. I know the Sherry's have eligibility left. What is their status and times they've produced so far at Stanford. That's a pretty stacked 17 on the roster to have with only needed a couple to step and up and make some leaps. I think Noonan could be good as a freshman. If I had to guess for their top 7 next year you're gonna have Youngs x2, Koon, Dargan, Topper/DiDonato if they return, and Bergeron if healthy. That's 7 right there but if Topper/DiDonato don't return, Noonan could step up and that leaves one more spot in top 7.

Oregon ran very well at Stanford also, putting 5 guys at 28:30 or under (28:21, 28:27, 28:29, 28:30, 28:31) and that didn't include Burns or Simon. Add in Echohawk, Fast Horse, and Gonzalez coming in next year, that team could be sneaky good in XC also. Hopefully everyone can stay healthy and Simon can make that XC leap like Hanson has done.

Chloe Foerster wins 800 heat 1 in 2:00.52 with a negative split 1:01.06 / 59.46.

Roisin Willis wins heat 2 with a 2:01.72. Whittaker was her rabbit.

Negative split 2:00 day after an uncontested 4:07 closing in 62… podium threat imo in the 1500

She was 6th indoor in mile after being seeded 10th. Many fast ladies at 800/1500.

I watched it! But could take a step even further to podium level, although yes there’s a lot of women who will run 4:07 this year.

Where did you figure this information out?

Stanford invite: Great fields this year, especially on the distance side. Probably the best weather i've seen this year as well. Perfectly warm, not windy. Meet management wise it ran very smoothly, especially on Saturday. Not too many delays, aside from some really stupid false starts. Shout-out to the volunteers, who kept it rolling.

Meet registration: Abysmal. Quite frankly they should be ashamed for having meet registration so bad at such a high-profile meet. I think a bunch of collegiate sprint programs decided not to come back after the 4x400 thing last year, and i'm sure some distance programs will choose not to come back after the heat sheet crap on Thursday. Notably:

- For some reason or another, they didn't take scratches into account AT ALL. There was a scratch deadline, and many, many people submitted scratches. No one was removed, and I heard several loudspeaker announcements for my athletes in events I had removed them from the week prior.

- Why is the registration on milesplit? Use direct athletics / athletic like everyone else.

- Zero communication from the meet director on things like deadlines, scratches, meet schedule changes ect. How are you gonna make the registration deadline 3 weeks before the meet but not use any scratches?

- Just a whole bunch of other small things I wasn't happy about dealing with at a meet like Stanford.

Looking ahead to 2025 XC, NM now has Kosgei, Jepngetich (15:22.8), Seguin (15:33.1), Jansen (33:29), Kirarei (9:12 last Dec) and Rono (4:16) just for starters.
