So What's Going On With Grand Slam Track?

The sport is athletics. They are governed by World Athletics. They will attend the World Athletics Championships. They compete in the sport of athletics at the Olympics.

The ‘athletics’ sport is an entertainment business. ‘Sport’ jumped the shark a long time ago.

I’m looking forward to watching this GST for free without the races being interrupted by field events.

Enjoy being interrupted by ads instead, I guess. The prize money needs to come from somewhere.

God, today's press conference was utterly excruciatingly, from the microphones that wouldn't work to the hosts that clearly knew nothing about the sport asking the most inane questions imaginable. If tomorrow's broadcast is half as bad then Grand Slam Track is dead on arrival.

The format was certainly very different than the Diamond League pressers. Instead of two lengthy segments with lots of questions asked to a small number of athletes, Grand Slam Track decided to use many different panels whisked out of there is quick succession. Only the female 400 hurdlers and male 1500 runners had a bit of time.

Young questioners and nothing from the audience. The emphasis seemed to be fast paced more than content. We'll see if that carries over to the telecast.

Today I thought the only worthwhile aspect was the tribute to Dalilah Muhammad. She confirmed this will be her final season.

The microphone situation was unbelievable. How do you screw that up on debut? It wasn't fixed until the final few minutes.
