Embarrassing so. It's the type of racing you used to see in high school races all the time in the US but no longer see. The coaching of US HSers is way better than what they are getting.

didn't watch the 800. but there's not a tactic in the world that would have helped those American's in the 1500. They're just not good enough.

Nikki and Shelby both would have stuck their noses in it. Would have at least been with Griffith and Bell.

His race today wasn't as impressive as his earlier performances this winter, but keep in mind that this was third day in a row of racing. It's really difficult to produce a stellar result on a third consecutive day of racing. The men's 800m schedule will be more favorable in Tokyo, where there will be a day off in between each round.

Tbh, I hate the fawning over Jakob on these boards, but I think he probably would do the double even if all the big guns were there. He'd back himself to win anyway. Remember he did the mile/3k double at Pre a few years ago and won both. I'm not saying it would be the smart decision to double in a strong field, but he'd do it.

Yes, but the 3000 was last. He doesn't typically do anything to jeopardize his 1500. The reason he didn't double in Tokyo. The 5000 was day before the 1500.
