I know I’m not answering your question, but I would nominate Tsegay, Gidey and Hassan based on the WC 2023 10000m homestraight: The all acted in a way that (if I was a woman) would make me say that I was proud of my gender..!

Not the trendiest of answers but I don't think I've ever heard anyone say anything bad about Jake Wightman - in fact everthing I've heard suggests hes an all round lovely guy

Dave Wottle is pretty hard to hate. And everybody who ever saw him run just pictured his big move in the Olympic 800. Pretty hard to hate that move too.

Terrible post. I don't recall anyone who was racing at the top in Rupp's time having a single good word to say about him.

Contrast that with Rudisha, who both fans and the 800 field loved even as they were getting trounced by him.

Why is this thread still going? I already gave the only answer. Mr Bill Rogers owned and operated his running store with his brother Charlie in Fenway Hall for 35 years. It's walls were loaded with his memorabilia that he would discuss with you anytime you stopped in there and he was around. He is the most friendly, approachable person there is. Not to mention all the guest appearances he's made at races over the years talking with anyone who would approach him. The man is a legend with a heart of gold.
