This mischaracterizes what I deny. I don't deny that doping use can be found generally at all levels in all sports.
LOL. Surprise! did not mischaractertize - you mischaracterized what Surprise! wrote. Dream on.
Rekrunner says he "doesn't deny that doping use can be found generally at all levels in sports" but he has never seen a doper, even when they have been convicted, he thinks that doping in running is little more than a rumour and where it is used it doesn't help performance, and the belief by athletes that it does help them is nothing more than an unsubstantiated equivalent of a religious "belief". No - he "doesn't deny" anything.

You've forgotten to mount your endless defence of Shelby again, and your excuses for countless Kenyan violations while insisting doping doesn't aid runners' performances and athletes only "believe" drugs will help them, like a belief in magic. 20 years of such posts.
No I haven't. In Shelby's case, I don't deny the possibility that she doped. But I don't presume it either. In the case of Kenyan violations, I don't deny any rule violations, to the extent they also have a sufficient evidentiary basis. Any discussion of performance benefit, either established or believed, doesn't seem relevant to a claim of "doping denial".
All these things can be better called "skepticism" when the evidence is insufficient.
You have posted endlessly attacking the CAS decision against Houlihan. You really are full of sh***.
Fascinating and original stuff from you two as always but I believe the thread was about Cheptegei’s marathon potential?
It's like fact-checking a Trump statement. Dirty work but someone has to do it. As far as Cheptegei is concerned, he likely isnt going to make the transition to longer distances.
Doping denial is more accurate. She failed a doping test. The rest is details. But you never give it a rest.
It's less accurate and bordering nonsensical. The devil is in the details, and if we have to rely on "presumptions", some details are lacking.
As you can go back and see for yourself, it was "Surprise!", and you, with a little pedantic support from "no way no how", that cannot seem to give it a rest. I didn't bring this unprovoked triple tag-team attack on me, to talk again about doping, or Shelby, in a thread about Joshua Cheptegei's Tokyo Marathon performance.
This thread is about Cheptegei, not doping, or Shelby, or Jakob. Try harder to stay on topic, and give your uninformed false arrogance a much needed rest.

While you drivel on ad nauseam about Houlihan and doping while defending your bloated sense of self importance. That is the only reason you have responded. You have nothing on the thread topic.

You've got it backwards and wrong.
I also posted on the thread topic (see Post #71). You chose not to respond.
I don't want to talk about Houlihan or doping, or Jakob for that matter, in this thread on Cheptegei's Tokyo Marathon performance.

You may "not want to" - you say - but you can never not talk about those subjects and especially go off on your doping denial raves and trying to justify your weird views.
Seems like a weird move to go to the marathon this early. He's only 28 years old which is still in his peak for the 10k. He's been almost unbeatable over the distance for the past 5 years. He still has the close to win in almost any type of race (1:53 last 800 last year in a fast race at worlds). I know he probably won't ever win the 5k again but seems like he could still have one more olympic cycle as the best 10k runner in the world. I just don't really get it, is this all because there's more money available on the roads? Maybe he really thinks he can win the Olympic marathon in LA? if I were him or his coach I'd focus on that world champs 10k.
Cheptegei got smoked by 5 people with 10k PBs ranging all the way from 27:20 to 28:40. Sounds like Cheptegei should stick to the time trials and leave the races involving tactics to the pros.
have you watched a world champs or olympic 10k recently?

I don't find it weird (it's just not working very well). He'll be 31 in LA. Look at these 10k greats:
Cheptegei, 26:11 PR at age 24, ....
Bekele, 26:17 PR at age 23, last sub-27 at age 29 (26:43)
Haile, 26:22 PR at age 25, last sub-27 at age 35 (26:51)
Tergat, 26:27 PR at age 24, last sub-27 at age 25 (26:46)
Kipchoge, 26:49 PR at age 22, last sub-27 at age 26 (26:53)
