Everything was sent out to coaches weeks ago. Everyone in D3 should know this as there was a survey sent out this summer too.
Looked like La Crosse didn't care if other teams tried and absolutely. Had hoped the twins would take on Bati, but they just let him go and paced their frosh. Update - there is another Gregg and he's ahead of schedule
so the entries for paul short are locked in but we're not quite sure exactly which teams will be in which races. geneseo will likely be in the white rather than the gold race; anson butler and pierce young didn't race this weekend and aren't even entered. hopkins will definitely be in the gold, and there's a good chance rpi will be too. emmanuel leblond i could easily see being a top 10 finisher in the gold race much like ethan gregg was in 23. expect mit, wesleyan, nyu and cmu to be duking it out for the team title in the white race. nathan tassey is the favorite to win the white race individually, and i'd put isaac bourne of loras and will shuflit of colorado college as picks for top 3. both of their respective schools, plus amherst, washington & lee and lynchburg are solidly in the second echelon of teams that will probably beat whichever the best metro region team is.
blugold is another interesting meet. hope (best team in the great lakes) is going, and that region as a whole is pretty weak. every wiac school is going (lax is sending jv team) plus every relevant miac school is going. honestly a north region preview, with the limit on teams going based on how many beat hope. kinda like paul short is the limit on largely east coast schools getting national rankings based on how many beat the top metro team.
some d3s are opting to take part in big d1 meets, with north central and some upper tier great lakes schools going to louisville while la crosse and chicago go to notre dame. then there's the keene state classic, which for some reason has williams, tufts and colby going. and some top programs figure a home meet is best; wartburg has theirs which is usually pretty small while pomona has got hometown rival cms and uc santa cruz pulling up. kudos to jack stein for an impressive 23:45 8k at ucr after a less than optimal outdoor track season.

Hope(#12) held their own pretty well by taking 3rd at Blugold by beating 6/8 of the top 10 North region teams that were there. They beat Olaf(#11) who was ranked just ahead of them nationally, and Whitewater (#14) who was ranked close behind them. However they were beaten by Platteville(#25) and Point(#17) who both jumped a lot of teams. Big race for Platteville.
Why am not seeing Berman College in results? Iirc they've been juco a while but they'll still be in the nationals selection process for 2025 so it would be nice to see how they stack up. A buddy goes to a different school in Springfield and says they're in fantastic shape for the d3 debut, fwiw

Berman opened on a very flat, fast 5K course last weekend against mostly NAIA and juco teams. Swept the top 3: 14:27, 14:33, 14:35, 14:48, 14:51, 15:09
Who are people projecting for the individual win on the Men's and Women's side?
Last years 2/3 should be 1/2.
Bati’s Strava is a trip. He’ll run 20 miles @6:05 pace the day before a meet then jog a 24:40.
Did a 10 mile with 4:40s on and 5:10 float between for a 49 min 10 mile on a random Friday. If he goes all out he could be low 23s
The man outran multiple All-Americans and some Big Ten runners and decided that wasn't enough, so he ran 20 miles in 89 degree heat this afternoon. By the way, the meet was moved to the morning due to dangerous temperatures. If he cares, which I don't think he does, he certainly could have the strength to break every XC course record he races and most likely all the D3 track distance records.

Don't let this topic hijack the nationals thread, but: Berman has an enrollment target of 120, but the true number this fall is about 83. As a tiny seminary, it is virtually impossible for Berman to field the requisite number of intercollegiate teams necessary for NCAA status. They have petitioned for XC and TF only, but it’s a long shot so they remain an independent. The school has an immensely popular “endurance team” that competes in road races, cycling, nordic skiing, and ocean swims, with about 50% of the students taking part to some degree. It’s a quiet, stoic environment befitting a seminary. If they were D3 eligible this fall, they’d likely be ranked #1 in the Metro region. Fall of 2026 seems like a possibility.
Heard Berman was getting some late transfers from Kenya. 2 guys: Dennis Kiplagat (sic?) and Daniel Cherigat. Absolute studs—13:57 and 14:05 in a dirt track time trial.
I don't think Kiplagat is confirmed but they're going to pop off either way... not fair that you can get top foreign talent to a tiny middle of nowhere school just by being super religious
Watching the replay of Paul Short White race and I just smashed my TV in front of 30 guests at my Haverford party because of the game. My wife just took our crying kids and said they’re all spending the week at a hotel. This team has ruined my life and my party. I can’t handle this anymore. MATT COHEN OUT NOW

I mean, sure, good for him. Hopefully it is fulfilling for him to emigrate to a different country in order to beat up on low tier of college athletes who are 4-5 years younger than him. I mean, who am I kidding, of course it is. Yay king.

Berman has had many international students, but no one has ever gone there for athletics and likely no one ever will. Most of the foreigners are from the Canadian prairies, and US Customs and Immigration did not renew their student visas this year, hence the drop in enrollment. Associate dean of students Sidd Finch, who conducts the endurance program, has stated that athletics plays no role in recruitment. However, the dedicated distance runners in the school have inquired about NCAA possibilities.
Here is their September schedule for the serious runners: Sunday: day of worship; evening 8-mile run Monday: 1-hour sunrise bike; vespers; class; evening 1-hour swim Tuesday: 12-mile sunrise run; vespers; class; evening 1-hour swim Wednesday: 12-mile sunrise run; vespers; community service; evening track reps* Thursday: 12-mile sunrise run; vespers; class; evening 1-hour swim Friday: 1-hour sunrise bike; vespers; class Saturday: 20-mile sunrise run**
*there is an old, dirt 5-laps-to-the-mile track on campus. Typical workout is 16x1 lap hard (about 325 meters) with a 1-minute rest, followed by 3-4 100-yard strides
**on 9/27 they competed at 5K instead of the 20-mile run
