I was a federal LEO from 1980-2013 - I have no idea what agency you worked for, but it was not any more stressful than ours. Sounds like it was a F'd up agency/department/location.
IMO, there is NO need to require a weekly report like the one DOGE 'requested' except to document activities during AUO (Administratively Unavoidable Overtime - spelled out for those not employed by the federal government).
At the end of my career I was a third line manager of over 150 onsite employees. I knew who was working and doing their job. There are numerous way to track activities and performance. It was my experience that an engaged administrator/manager/supervisor knows who is working without some BS bullet summary.
If you need a list like that from your staff, you need to push yourself away from your desk and see what is going on.
