Wayzata, Rosemount, and Blaine came out close to me, but I feel really good with Wayzata #1 given their depth and history. Rosemount has the three top-25 state finishers which makes them tough to top. Blaine had a strong track season and has a better 4-5 than Rosemount.
I didn't expect it, but Two Rivers came out better than I thought after going through XC and track times. They didn't run as well as expected at state last year, but they have a very solid top 5 and are certaintly in the podium mix.
After those four, I have a big tier between Roseville and Bloomington Jefferson. Really struggled with how to rank those 5 programs. Settled with Roseville at #5 but I honestly don't love it. MV and Tonka both lose a lot from last year but have great depth and had strong track seasons. Duluth East is overall underrated but their track season was underwhelming. Washburn had a great track season and might be ranked too low here- especially if Drew Just is running as he only did NXR last year. Jefferson might have the best 3rd runner of this whole tier but lack of other scorers is concerning though they are defs a top 10 team.
Great job as always Ice Cold! I absolutely agree with Wayzata at #1 and Rosemount and Blaine as the next two. After those top 3 it seems wide open to me. Like you stated, it seems Two Rivers has the athletes to be the next best team, but Minnetonka has a history of developing runners, and with the low stick in Fries it's tough for me to see them outside of the top 5. It's good to see young and upcoming teams like Chanhassen enter the rankings. Also it's probably been a long time since there was a top 15 ranking that didn't include Edina or Eden Prairie. First official practice is today, should be a fun season!

Thanks! I also heard Tonka has a out-of-state transfer joining their team that should be a scorer so maybe I could bump them up some.
EP and Edina were so senior-heavy last year that they didn't look as strong going through their returners' times, but wouldn't be surprising for them to hit the rankings this season too.
I'll be on the lookout for when the coaches preseason rankings come out to compare.
Nevermind on Pequot. I relooked and their best times seem to be skewed by one fast or short course.
On Mankato West, Ephraim Staley ran for a North Carolina school this spring, so I am assuming he won't be running for them this fall. He was 38th at state last year, so a big loss for them. Still think they are a solid team but would have been tight to get to state even with him in the lineup.
Yeah it will be hard for Mankato West to qualify either way.
Belle Plaine will likely qualify this year from that section after losing only 1 senior from the 3rd place section finish.
Mankato East loses 4 seniors, but they always seem to reload no matter how much they graduate

Wayzata and Rosemount have their alumni meets today and tomorrow!
Doesn't mean much but fun to get some early results in. I assume a few other teams will have time trials soon too and people should post any interesting results!

Again, any feedback is appreciated!
Champlin Park could probably be close to Mounds View and Roseville and challenge for a state meet spot. They barely missed it last year and all of their top 3 and a decent #4 are back, but they need a 5th runner

Tonka results! I was told Fries is healthy and fit- just didn't run this "race" so no need to worry.
Great news for Tonka is new runner from VA, Ashok Algappan, was just a few seconds from Nordstrom! Seems like they have the best #1 and a very strong #2-4 now.
Gotta take all TTs with a grain of salt but takeaway here is Ben Russell finishing 4th on the team is impressive/surprising (beat some sub 10 min 3200 guys and he wasn't not close to varsity last year). Also Joey McVean was 7th on team and didn't ran XC last year (4:37 1600 in track).
Nothing too surprising for Wayzata TT besides Blake Knutson (32nd at xc state and 9:52 in track) and Ian Holst (9:49) not running.

Class AA coaches preseason ranks are out! No huge surprises. Noth boys and girls had the same top 6 and top 12 as my ranks, just slightly different order. Biggest difference for boys they had Mankato East 3rd but I had them 6th. Also I had Rockford at 7th but coaches had them 11th.
I did see Perham's TT results and feel really good that their boys being the preseason favorites. Girls are really fit and deep too- I think them vs Mpls SW will be awesome battle to track during season.
Very disappointing how the girls team ranks include Mpls Southwest when they are now in AA. I don't get how that can be missed, not too mention multiple spelling mistakes and a Wayzata individual listed twice. Plus Isabel Mahoney should be listed as one of the top individuals as Monticello is now in AAA.
Even putting those issues aside, the girls ranks are poor in my opinion. Mounds View, Hopkins, Alexandria, and Highland Park all unranked. I know this is all just average ranks from AAA coaches that submit it and that these ranks do not matter at all, but it could be so much better.
Boys are much more accurate. They have MV at #3 over Blaine which I was surprised by, but nothing else major sticks out. Their top 12 is the same 12 teams as mine.
