Yes definitely pre-med. Math as well. One of the biggest feeders to Wall Street overall and a top 5 school for placement to Harvard Business School and top feeder school to Yale Law School.

Getting the free tuition deal may not be as common as you think.
Less than $125k per year and the students attend for free. Middle class is considered 40-121k per year. So yes, some upper class families are attending Dartmouth for free.
If parents earn $130k per year the students are probably getting a 95% financial aid package.
You have to make over 400k per year to not qualify for financial aid. If you make that much, you can afford full tuition. There are tons of families happy to pay full tuition to attend Dartmouth.
If the coaches are able to put in extra work to find those middle class students that can get accepted, they would attend for free. That's better than scholarships.

People know that Dartmouth is not a historical powerhouse right? Vin Lannana taking this team to consecutive 2nd place finishes in the 80's might be the best coaching achievement in NCAA history. This is a program that hasn't won Heps since 2005 and last made Nationals in 2016.
True inherited a complete mess from the previous regime. Imagine how insanely overtrained your team has to be to have numerous femoral stress fractures while running in the soft surface nirvana of Hanover? I think he'll be good in the long term, but rebuilding a place like Dartmouth is not a quick fix. You need to find a lot of under the radar diamonds in recruiting and then be great and patient with their development. You aren't getting the real blue chip foot locker types, you need to identify the 9:15 guy from some rural backwater who's gonna run 13:45 in 3-4 years.

Ben was a three time Heps champion in cross country, ran 13:02 and 27:14, and was seconds away from making an Olympic team. You can tell by the posts that none of the brilliant posters on here have achieved anything close to that. These are accomplishments that bring something to coaching that you don't get by finishing 175th at your D3 regional after running 3:58 in the 1500. Not all great runners are great coaches, but Ben is a very smart Dartmouth grad. Dartmouth could not dream to get someone so qualified for the position.
And the team loves him. Prognosticate all you want, but if Ben isn't given a fair shot over more than a few years, all the holy hell that rained down on McNutty and Dobson/Hobson will be brought down on whoever removes him.
Dartmouth should qualify for NCAAs every year and should threaten top 10 in the NCAA most years. Amazing academics in the best non-altitude training location in the USA.
They can absolutely draw NXR or Footlocker qualifiers. Most of their current team ran faster than 9:15 in high school, recruited by clueless coaches.
They have several international athletes on their team, so they aren't solely stuck with domestic talent. Dartmouth has financial aid packages that are in most cases better than scholarship offers those same kids would be getting at Power 5 programs.
In theory they can have 30 guys on their XC roster all receiving 75% or higher financial aid packages.

Duke for sure gives scholarships. Georgetown, I'm not 100% sure, but they tend to land better recruits than the Ivies, and I doubt that is all admission boost.
