So all the talk of American record for the women, and Susanna Sullivan goes out way faster than everyone else through 5k. She splits 16:27, which is 2:18:48 pace. Well ahead of D'Amato/Saina/Bates (16:50 at 5k, 2:21:49 pace).
Sullivan still ahead at 10k, which she hit in 33:08 (2:19:48 pace), which is well ahead of D'Amato/Bates/Saina (33:32, 2:21:27 pace)

Dawit Wolde up front for men. He a 2:03:48 guy but has been far from consistent in his marathon career. Came from the middle distances on the track - 1:47/3:33/13:10. This year his only finish so far was winning a downhill 10k in Madrid in 26:55
So Chepngetich hit 10k in 30:14. SO her 2nd 5k was 15:14. 15:14 by itself is 2:08:33 pace!!!!
At 10k, the lead women are head of the following American men: Shadrack Kipchirchir, Nathan Martin, Colin Mickow, Reed Fischer, Brian Shrader, Alex Maier, etc.
I'm so done with wheelchair races. A woman is running 2:07 pace and I'm watching f*cking hand cycles rolling down the street for most of the broadcast. Show me the start and the end that's it. It's not why I watch a major marathon.
