Seems like NAU had a bad race. Wheels fell off the last half of the race. Also Baloga and Stearns did not race. Nice race from Upshaw.
As an NAU fan it was a great race from a few key girls like Upshaw and K. Moore that shows the great depth. Inside info says Stearns and Baloga are fine and will be there. Add them in and the results are very different
Top 5-6 teams are all very good. Could be anyone at nationals. Looks like BYU is the clear favorite to me, but we'll see how it plays out.
The men’s race will be between Wolfe, Samuel and Blanks. It’s going to be a battle. Samuel looked smooth and was able to make a move to seperate the pack. Considering he’s a month behind the others for XC build/training Blanks looked great. I did hear that Nike made him wear Nike spikes today and would not let him wear NB. Seems strange as this NIL situation has not been enforced. Retribution against NB from Parker Valby? Wolfe will be in the mix too. Weather will play a major factor as well.
There is no accountability within CU athletics department, so this won't matter for Carlson. Rick George is such a clown that it's hard to imagine CU running ever competing for a championship again. He destroyed the CU XC program. CU would have done better with no changes, but neither Carlson or George will ask the hard questions. Also, what happened to Buffs women? They were on the start sheet, but didn't run?
