When AIU testers arrive in Ethiopia, there's tip offs. Also, doping is way more professional in Ethiopia. But they turned up at the Olympics clean and won nothing with the exception of a last minute ring-in marathoner! Hmmm 🤔
Also, these testers are typically not native Africans, often white, and will stick out like a sore thumb in a predominantly black African country as soon as they step off the plane. They're not going to be treated very well to put it lightly. Few are going to be accommodating with their requests or needs, especially if they know they're there to try and test/bust native athletes, and there's a known nationwide culture of accepted rampant doping. They'll be lucky to get a single test done and fly out of there without being robbed.
Hmm, the kenyan flights will surely always land at Nairobi and I'd guess that a typical flight arriving from europe/Asia/N America has a bunch of white people on it - imo possibly too many for the customs folk to delve into who is there to catch doping kenyans. i can see that once the testers start heading towards Iten and surroundings that may narrow down the reasons why they are there.
That's why I don't watch the road anymore (aside from Olympic marathon). If you want to see clean sport, stick with the track.
For all the downvotes this got, i was thinking earlier today that there keep being loads of Kenyan Road busts and far fewer from the track elites. Based on what I saw at Paris, I have a vague idea that a bunch of Kenyans and Ethios who may have been microdosing up to mid track season, came off it pre Paris and arguably this was reflected in some of the results across the endurance races - likely beneficiaries incl Fisher, Rooks and Battocletti. But obvs I don't buy that elite track is fully a 'clean sport'
Yes !!!! Keep the busts coming in as it is the most entertaining part of elite distance running. But also please ban Kenya already as too much money is being stolen from the sport and it is never being recuperated. For example, is this athlete plus her coach and manager going to pay back what they have been stealing from the sport? Put the testing resources towards targeting Ethiopia and see more drugs busts to the point where they have to banned too.
Have you ever been to Kenya? Most of their citizens are not stealing from your sport, you are! Look, see, hear, smell before you judge others!
Story of my life: in another thread I said she was obviously doping a few months ago and got down voted. Lo and behold the obvious truth comes to light. Pay attention ladies and gentleman.
The Boy Who Cried Wolf gets his one day, writes a sequel called Self-Righteous.

It isn't possible to cry wolf about Kenyan doping. It's a certainty.

Good point about prize money being stolen (it is FRAUD) and not being able to claw it back. Race directors should give serious consideration/be required to escrow at least part of that money until samples tested and retested after the end a predetermined holdback period. In the case of a serial doping nation like Kenya, a substantial holdback. Lastly, go after the agents and coaches b/c they have a part of that money too.
Why is it that when Russia pulls this bs, they get banned from major events. But when Kenya pulls this bs, they just keep doping with no consequences beyond individual suspensions. Is it just a matter of political correctness?
Because one is state sponsored, and one is not. Why is this so difficult to understand?
Would you cheat if you were a top American runner? If you get caught, the consequences are huge. Houlihan’s attorney said the ban has ruined her life and I don’t think he’s far off. She lost 4 years from her prime running years and a ton of income. If you google her name, nothing but doping stories pop up and some have “burrito” in the title. You believe that every BTC runner was willing to take that risk?
No, Shelby is her own case. She also outran her apparent talent the most in being a fringe finalist and also-ran on the DL at age 24 to a whisker from a medal and earning a crapload from record bonuses a couple years later.
Currently the WR stands at 28:46. Doping might give you 40 - 60 seconds over 10K, so I can see clean 29:26 or at least clean 29:46 runners, give or take.
Maybe for a man, but more than a minute for a woman taking EPO AND testosterone.
I feel like this is partly Hajo Seppelt's fault. Before he came out with that ADR documentary, no one knew about the Nairobi Airport Hilton Pharmacy where you could just walk in and buy EPO for a few $. Now they all know there is the spot you can buy it and hardly have to train and can run a 2:03 'thon.

If they did that, they would have to do that with every runner. Race directors cannot discriminate against one country’s runners.
