All that being said, if she gets hurt by an 80-mph spike by a man playing women's volleyball, then I think the NCAA should be sued for allowing him to play.
I'm curious about her lawsuit against Stanford and the NCAA for "dangerous practices." It appears these are just freak incidents where she was hit in the head by the ball. It happens sometimes. I guess if she was THAT concerned for her safety she could have worn a helmet, just like a very small number of pole vaulters do. Most college softball pitchers wear a facemask despite the small possibility that a line drive could hit them in the face. I sympathize with her and feel bad that her career was ended due to concussions, but she chose to play the sport with the highest rate of concussions in women's collegiate sports and did so without wearing any additional protection. Not the fault of Stanford nor the NCAA.
Had some time and decided to do a little digging. According to this thorough (and long) article, she first suffered a concussion in high school. She was out for a month and when she tried to return, she still had symptoms and was held out even longer.
At Stanford, she was hurt in practice doing a drill the coach referred to as "The Courage Drill" where the player stands 10 feet from the net and a coach hits medium speed spikes at them. She was taken to the hospital and the Stanford doctor diagnosed her with a mild concussion. Five days later, she was cleared to play and played in a game on Day 7 post concussion and the same Stanford doctor listed her as "concussion, resolved." She played the rest of the season and took a ball to the head in her final match. She was not evaluated for a concussion at this time. She continued to have all kinds of lingering issues (vertigo, confusion, insomnia, depression, etc.
They don't trust young women to make their own decisions. Either their reproductive rights or volleyball matches.
Riley Gaines was allowed to make her own decision on whether to race against Lia Thomas or not. These volleyball players at Wyoming should have been given the same freedom.

No one is hitting 80mph in women's volleyball.
If you think Fleming is hitting anything close to that, you are telling you never watch D1 volleyball without telling you never watch D1 volleyball.
I have always said on here that chicks need to suck it up and not be afraid to get a bloody nose by standing up for what’s right.
EXCELLENT!
And good for the school that finally they’re supporting who is right, rather than sanctioning the victims.
Maybe there’s hope.
Maybe.
Are these refusals to play SJSU based on safety issues, or is it just political? It matters.
When the Athletic Department discussed this issue earlier, no player expressed any concern about their safety.
“The Athletic Department administration/coaching staff recently discussed the matter with the entire women’s volleyball team … including any potential safety concerns,” Chad Baldwin, UW spokesman, told Cowboy State Daily in a Tuesday email. “No student-athletes expressed any concern regarding their safety.”
The University of Wyoming volleyball team plans to play San Jose State in Laramie on Oct. 5 despite the SJSU having a transgender player. After learning…
A lawmaker who has been instrumental in curbing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) funding at the University of Wyoming voiced frustration Tuesday with the upcoming volleyball match.
“We know it’s not fair, we know it’s not what our citizens want,” said Sen. Cheri Steinmetz, R-Lingle. “The Legislature was very clear … that we wanted DEI stopped at the University of Wyoming. The citizens in the recent election cycle were very clear that they’re tired of the woke agenda.”
The following article explains the political pressure the university faced.
"Wyoming Freedom Caucus" called for the forfeit. They are "dedicated to limited government" according to their website. Except when young women want to make their own decisions about their volleyball matches.
Looks like they will not play at least 5 games during a 17-game stretch.
Hopefully UNLV, San Diego State, Nevada, New Mexico, Air Force, Colorado State, and Fresno State follow their lead and SJSU does not play again until the conference tournament. CSU and Fresno have already played them once so I doubt they will forfeit the second game and Air Force will not forfeit or face the direct wrath of the White House.
If Wyoming and Utah both would not play against SJSU that's saying something coming from states that are very conservative and usually don't take a stand on any issues.

They both banned transgender athletes so they have already taken a stand on this issue.
The crazy thing about this is that San Jose State has no choice. They had to let a natal male onto their team because it's the rule. It had to let this person bunk with women, otherwise it would be discrimination. The women on the team are stuck. The university is stuck. There's nothing the coach or player can do about it.
50 years from now people will look back and wonder how the system got people into such a ridiculous scenario. It will seem so bizarre it'll almost be unbelievable.

Not all all new. Its called ideology over reason. Democrats are also openly sexists and racists. All together it is the ideology of the far left. And this dictatorshop keeps creeping Up all the time even though it has always failed everywhere

Huh? Every single school in NCAA has a choice on which athlete they want to offer scholarship or add to the roster.
Fleming entered the transfer portal three years ago, and SJSU (under the previous head coach) claimed her from the portal. No one forced them to take Fleming.
University of Washington rescinded a scholarship offer after they learned that a player they had recruited was transgender. They have not faced any lawsuit about this issue.
And even now, they have no obligation to play Fleming in any of the matches.
If the head coach decides to bench her for the rest of the season, there is absolutely nothing anyone could do. They have all the freedom to do whatever they want.
not that you could tell from your dishonest presentation, but the last game on SJSU's schedule actually completed was at conference leading colorado state, yesterday, which the home team won in straight sets. in other words, SJSU lost 3-0.
the forfeiting teams would currently not make the MW tourney, and aren't helping their chances any with their political stomp fit.
in terms of the schedule going forward, i expect at least the next 4 games to be played. USAFA is federal and will not be political. the other 3 schools are either liberal states or high up in the standings and would not endanger their status.
my assessment is SJSU will get maybe 2 more forfeits from the same teams repeating the round robin, and the only question is maybe does utah state pull something. otherwise, the teams that played before will play again. none of the forfeiting teams will make NCAAs, and maybe none will even make conference tournament.
one way of looking at it is the luxury of being crappy.
