So now we are being asked to believe that the Captain (Conor) and Camille are coming clean? Or that love and a few big whopper lies will keep us (them) together.
He's not her knight in shining armor, but he may be riding atop a Stallion.
I had no idea people give a rats ass about ultra running in this site, who knew & why? Seriously has this site now become a high school message board & Ultra running site. Let's run...
Both of these are more interesting than watching a bunch of anonymous East Africans running laps around a track.
They may be anonymous to you but that's because you choose to be ignorant.
Camille's statement should apologize for not stopping Conor's wiki activities
Starting an uplifting and positive new future shouldn't be founded on the lie that this was all Conor's doing. Let's face it, Camille is involved in this. The evidence in its entirety is pretty hard to deny:
- The perfectly non-overlapping timelines of the various wiki handles that start with her own 'runcamille' handle that created her wiki page, and the fact that one of the newer offending handles was linked to her old email address. Is she really letting Conor take the fall for that? We're to believe he really didn't have a secondary email address lying around? Or 3 minutes spare to create a new gmail?
- Her initial denial suggested foul play by an outsider. If she had nothing to do with this and the excuse was always going to be that Conor did it, why not tell 'the truth' straight away? Instead, we got a panic deactivation of all social media and, a long time after the initial 'foul play' claim, a half-buttocked mea culpa from Conor. Come off it.
- She wrote over 1600 posts on the Letsrun message board. Let's not pretend she's above wasting her time arguing on the internet.
- The fact that this seems entirely congruent with her public 'unsporting' persona- she has repeatedly questioned legit rival performances or tried to have them DQ'd. There is therefore nothing 'surprising' at all about her deleting entire sections from rival runners' wikis.

This should put any question regarding her alleged guilt in this matter to rest. Making mistakes is only human, it is good that he admits his mistake and takes responsibility so they can continue their focus on her sports endeavors. Which by the way should not be allowed to be besmudged by this unfortunate, but in reality inconsequential matter.
I equate this with the recent Mark Robinson porn scandal. There seems to exist a large population of people on the planet that don't think facts matter one single bit. "If I talk loud enough I'm correct" end of story. These people are insufferable and make humanity worse for everyone.
I bet Camille votes for Trump, that's the correlation.

Well you see, that would be the RIGHT thing to do. You’ll figure it out when you move out of your parent’s basement.
This is an interesting study because if you go on Facebook/Twitter, her fans of slow/novice runners are defending her saying she's always been so nice, but if you talk to literally ANY person in the upper tier of ultras they will say she has easily been the most annoying and unsportsmanlike figures in the sport. Ask what it's like to be on Team USA with her. We all just knew she was odd and a narcissist and kept our mouths shut publicly but it all catches up with ya eventually!
Courtney’s response will likely be along the lines of “It’s alright, everyone has bad days. No need to punish her.” And Kilian would say “Camille who?”
In the grand scheme of things, I don’t think the people she was wronging really care about what she did or what she does, which is why this story will likely die out the same way the Spring Energy debacle and Shelby being the only Nike doper in American distance running both did.
Kudos to the trail community for not caring enough about losers to create a huge platform for them. I hope Camille loses half of her 20 loyal fans over this, but I think we’re really just witnessing a public display of an adult temper tantrum. It’d be healthier for everyone for this to get handled behind closed doors.
That being said, this will be a really easy topic to joke about, and I think that is a fair punishment.

she seemed angry she couldn't turn her wikipedia page into a self promoting puff piece without it being edited down, and blew it waaay out of proportion, trying together "puff" deleted from her competitors pages to prove a point.
But if she actually read those pages, or anyone's pages, she'd realize they all sounded nothing like hers.

I don't agree with this. It seems she has wronged people in other ways than editing wiki pages. I think definitely the athletes that she tries to prevent from having their records be ratified care. She should definitely not get a pass for her behavior regardless of how immature and stupid editing wiki pages is.

Jurek also had something awhile back in one of his stories, I think?!

I'm sure RDs and those in the ultra world who put on races are aware of what's going on. It sounds like a close-knit, clannish community like Irish Dancing. So the Greek team putting on the Sparta race this weekend is probably well aware of the Wiki scandal.

Ultra running is like Irish Dancing? You might have lost me on that one.

For what it's worth, I'm not a novice runner, but I've always been slower than her, and I agree with what you're saying. She was always nice to me, so I never noticed or paid attention to anything negative about her before seeing this article. Some of that has to do with me not having a huge interest in ultra running, which she wasn't involved in until more recent years. The more that's come out, my original perception of her has completely flipped.
In the other thread, I started with asking to look at it with an open mind because I personally did not have all of the information I do now, not because I was defending her. I was caught off guard.
I think it would have been more helpful for me and anyone else who may still have some blinders on to have included more athlete quotes in the article or at least elaborate on the quote from Cherns. For example, the "pattern of interference" and "history of trying to disrupt athletes."
That is the real issue, not editing Wikipedia.

She is a registered Democrat, for what it's worth.
