You can tell who has no friends in real life. Friends debate things intensely all the time, especially sports. Close friends will beat each other up in a pickup basketball game but be best friends after.
If anything, this shows Rojo looks at Gault like a brother, and that's endearing.
Nah that wasn’t a brotherly exchange. That was a verbal reprimand from a boss to his employee. That’s why Gault immediately expressed contrition.
I’m concerned for Gault after seeing Rojo’s comment likening him to an abused spouse. That makes me wonder if this was merely an isolated incident or a recurring pattern. If something like that happens on camera, what’s happening off camera?

The level of hubris this guy has to make such an analogy especially on a day when Rebecca Cheptegei died from domestic abuse, is tone deaf and extremely ignorant. He's against cancel culture, but sometimes you reap what you sow. I don't think he realizes, or frankly, even cares about the sh*tcan or worms he just opened up. Probably one of the stupidest things he has ever said, and that took some work.

Not even in the top 1000 stupidest things that dimwit has said this month.

Comparing raising your voice at an employee on a stupid podcast to a woman enduring ongoing domestic violence is stupid, offense, and probably going to get him cancelled. If you don't get that, you are part of the problem too. Don't cry when it happens.
"it is so unprofessional for you to keep interrupting me like that"
Is that seriously what started this? The podcasts are frustrating to listen to for the opposite reason- Rojo interrupting when Jon tries to provide intelligible commentary.
Jon is arguably the best journalist in the pro running scene, and it's sad to think how much he is hurting is credibility by sticking here.
I've always thought Jon would be great with someone like Cathal Dennehy, but after reading Rojo's comment likening him to an abused spouse, I hope Jon branches off and wipes this site out of relevance
You can tell who the new people are. This is classic letsrun behavior on the podcast and it’s honestly why we’re all here. I find their podcasts way more engaging and real, warts and all, than the citius or highly produced podcasts.
I listen to 70% or more of the pods. they bicker and argue, but ive never heard any of them snap at each other the way it happened tonight.
It wasn't an end of the world type of thing, but he owes him an apology. I would say publicly, since he did it publicly.
honestly, they might have a close enough relationship that they talk to each other like that in private. and i think that's fine. we are like that with people we are closest to. it just doesn't look good to do it while on the clock.
You listed to their podcasts? I've tried and tbh I find them unlistenable because of how TERRIBLE Rojo is. "Stuttering and incoherent" come to mind. "Verbal diarrhea" is probably more accurate. It's funny (to me) that Wejo is half-decent because I guess I assumed identical twins would be somewhat similar in their skills, but clearly not the case here. The podcasts would be so much better if it were just Jon and Wejo. And, yes, Jon is clearly the best of them by a lot.

Correct. I've always said I treat Jonathan like a younger version of Weldon. I love both of them.
For the record, I apologized to Jon on the phone. He was on speakerphone with my wife (who is Jon's #1 fan).
But i'm stunned many of you are thinking I'm in any way minimizing domestic violence. I'm doing the opposite. If you understood my analogy, you'd realize I was saying I was in the wrong and Jonathan didn't deserve my tirade and I'm stunned he apologized to me.
Yes, I'll still argue he shouldn't have gone out of his way to interrupt me while I was talking and correct me about the name I got wrong (as I realized it and was about to correct myself) but I shouldn't have freaked out on air when he did.
The problem with the modern world is in the day and age of iphones, people can almost never have a bad moment that is forgotten about. You lose your temper and if someone catches it on video, it stays forever (thankfully I deleted it). Back in the day, if you had a disagreement, it wasn't a big deal as people moved on like Jonathan and I are doing. Their minds glossed over exactly what happened. Nowadays, you get a video replay for the rest of you life.
A relative says to kids all the time, "This is the real world - not heaven. Life isn't perfect."
Having a bad moment isn't the end of the world.
Stop the cancel culture and grow some thicker skin people.

Yes part of me agrees with this but I am also aware that sometimes people get banned here if they lose their temper and post something deemed inappropriate or rude. So you guys cancel people all the time, whether it be banning posters or deleting posts.
