Do you dorky runners not realize a girl of her caliber looks never needs to stress about money? Parker could be a 23 minute 5k runner and if she wanted to latch onto a decently handsome guy at UF medical school or some guy from business school with a tier 1 private equity offer in hand she could probably do so in under a week if she was motivated.
The fact she's the greatest female college distance runner of all time is icing on the cake.
Laughing hard at people here worrying about her sponsorship or giving up earnings etc. Parker will never have to worry about money for the rest of her life.
I'm kind of stunned this accurate statement is getting more downvotes than upvotes.
Downvotes don't always mean disagreement. Could mean, "that's true, but it's a gross sentiment," or "I dislike that fact," or "who cares if she can marry rich because the question we're talking about is how she can maximize her own income?"
She's still coming to grips with the enormous gap between US women and the rest of the world in distance running. She saw first hand Schweizer, Cranny, St. Pierre (plus Kelati) get crushed at the Olympics. She saw 57-58 sec last laps in the 5K and 10K. She's the best collegian of all time, but she'll never run that fast. What's her strategy going forward? It's possible she'll just call it a career.

Pretty much all the downvotes and "Parker is being stupid not signing" are coming from one or maybe 2-3 dudes in an agent's office using VPN to make multiple posts/comments/votes. It's literally just one view.
This loser agent has been trying to pressure her to sign a really bad rookie pro deal since the Olympics and she and her dad wisely aren't giving them the time of day.
So he's anonymously slandering her on this forum with spam-levels of astroturf to try and smear Valby, her coach, whatever their double digit IQ brain cells slamming together can come up with to try and smear-campaign her into signing, like she's ever going to sign with him or not take her time making the right call.

You need to move on. She is a NCAA record holder and her Dad is literally clueless and doing bad business. The original poster was wondering why she isn’t singed and yes it’s extremely rare

Do you ignore common sense? The reason was explained on the first page. It’s probably to first get out from under the right-of-first refusal clause. The reason this situation is rare is because NIL is relatively new.

The first rights to refusal just means Nike gets her if Nike matches any offer. Its not why she hasn't singed. That's standard NIL contract.
Her Dad is tall and smart. You sure aren't if you don't understand that they are waiting for Right of first refusal to expire. I realize that her dad deals in contracts much larger than you can understand.

If that is your answer, then you just admitted that YOU STILL DON’T GET IT. And judging from other responses on this thread, you aren’t alone.
What don't you understand? She is waiting for it to exire so that she won't have to go with Nike if they match another offer. This isn't complicated nor a secret.

Then she's probably waiting for it to expire before accepting any offers so Nike wouldn't be able to do that... which was the original point.
^this.
Once the right-of-first-refusal (ROFR) expires, company A can make an offer, and even if Nike matches that offer, she could still choose Company A’s offer.
For any strange reason, like maybe she likes the way Company A’s logo looks, she may want to go be employed (sponsored) by company A, even at less salary, if necessary. But she is not allowed to do that until the ROFR expires, because until that clause expires, Nike could just match company A’s offer, preventing her from going to Company A.

I'm kind of stunned this is the kind of incel content you want on your "running" website

Its just a Match, that's what first rights to refusal means. There is no obligation to sign with Nike. That means she's not getting a good deal if she's waiting for it to expire whiles she's losing out on Money month by month. What you're saying makes absolutely no sense. If this is the case, she need better guidance.
