Why am I not surprised this dude put a giant picture of his own face on the front cover?
how dare he writer of the book put a picture of himself and a picture of the top Newberry Park athletes reflection in his sunglasses on the cover. HOW DARE the author do this.
In my opinion, the athletes should be FRONT AND CENTER and Brosnan should be small in the background.
He's downplaying their role in the success and grossly exaggerating his role. They had 5 genetic freaks from 2 families.

Good thing your opinion doesn’t matter to the writers or fans. The cover is f@ckong amazing. Unless you read the book you have no clue what it’s about or how it’s written or why the cover was picked by I’m sure more people involved then Sean Brosnan himself.
You don’t have to read it, but many others will read it. Thats the beauty of a book.
Brosnan and Newbury Park was legendary. They changed high school running.
Drew Hunter had a much bigger impact on high school running. I saw tons of kids (albeit slow kids) at high school shirts wearing Tinman Elite gear.
99% of current high school runners don't know who Brosnan is.
Drew Hunter was good but didn’t have the impact Newbury Park had on runners all over the country. I was at the Olympic Trails in June and saw kids following Brosnan around and asking for autographs and pictures. Newbury Park had a huge impact on this sport and the word legend is well deserved
I was hoping there would be something to read ant some point about Newbury Park. I was coaching my some at a California high school at the time of Newbury’s success. The boys and girls were truly a pleasure to watch. My boy was a fan of Leo and Leo Young and they couldn’t have been nicer to my son when he asked for a picture and struck up a conversation. Im getting this must read
I dove my kids over 400 miles to see the 2021 team run in Huntsville AL. That was a magical day that will go down in history for the sport of cross country. Sometimes you just have to take it in and appreciate what you’re witnessing.
Why does it feel like the last 5 or so posts were all made anonymously by the same person?
I think the key is don't buy it or talk about it. You're just giving the book a talking point if you hate the idea so much.
As for myself I've already pre ordered the thing. The book about the best team in history has to have some good nuggets in the thing.
It might be interesting but it's going to be a FICTION book. Brosnan is going to lie and make up tons of stories that never happened. He's lied about everything else and he's going to lie in the book too.
He doesn't have credibility anymore, especially after the UCLA violation report came out.
I'm from Newbury Park. Lived there for 20 years. My sons ran Cross country at N.P. pre Brosnan. Brosnan created a very successful program, but took the the fun out of it for regular kids. Way too serious for most teenagers. So what a few of 'his runners' are 'legends'. I don't give a rats ass about the book or him.

The Sahlmans and Youngs were going to be superstars no matter who coached them.
Brosnan was a JERK to everyone. If Brosnan wanted to go back, Newbury Park would not hire him.
Newbury Park was like the Beatles of high school running. The scene was epic. I have half my team already preordering the book. Newbury Park and Chris Lear is a complete gold medal to me. Newbury Park was dominate and rewrote the records. I was at Mt Sac with my girls team when the girls broke the National 4x1500 or 4x1600 record. Its wasn’t just the boys but the girls too. Hopefully the girls have a part of the book too.
