I am American, but I'd rather see Femke win. My reason is because Sydney seems to hate competing and does nothing to promote the sport, but Femke is the exact opposite. Plus maybe a loss to Femke would motivate Sydney to change.

Can't believe nobody else is saying this. Femke Bol is extremely beautiful and that is the core reason. Race/personality are factors but they are secondary to this.

My take is that we are all track fans and love track. Femke clearly loves track (she races so often). Syd clearly does not love track (shown by her reluctance to run). also, Syd’s lack of racing also comes off as arrogance (‘I don’t need to run’)

SML is top 10% of beauty, but Bol is like top 1%. And fan preferences really kick in at the extremes. Thomas is definitely in the top 1% too though.

I am British so no it’s not cheering against my own country.

Anyway I support individual athletes I like more than the badge on their vest hence liking Duplantis, Rojas, Mahuchich (sp) and Christian Taylor along with Brits like Hodgkinson.

I would always cheer for Bol and Hodgkinson over Sydney and Athing Mu because they respect the circuit and race a consistent full season. Same reason to favour Ingebrigtsen over Kerr.

They are different but I like them both.
