He recently posted a YouTube video about his business relationship with Stryd. He himself said in it part of the deal was him doing some required video sessions featuring them. I don't have social media, but maybe someone who does could tag them asking for comment.
Wow. It's well established that Fox is a total piece of sh*t but this is really something. I don't think we've ever seen such a display of what an awful person he is.
My issue with how this is presented in this thread and those screen shots is that there seems to be something missing/cut from the exchange between Matt Fox and his client, Itai Spiegel.
If it is exactly as presented: client seeks advice after race from online coach; online coach issues generic Chat GPT response; client complains about generic response; online coach threatens to publicly shame client + threatens legal action + spews gibberish and vitriol at client... well online coach Matt Fox must have been having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day, and should issue a heartfelt apology. Again though, it seems like there is something missing from the exchange.
Maybe it was personal info. For all you know that was the athletes address or something private that is none of your business. If it would clear Matt fox's name he would have released it.
I wonder if he will be coming back to Australia either. A couple of years ago our country introduced a lot of “intimate image” protection clauses which make it an offence to do what he’s done on a few occasions. He might find himself in a small room having a big chat with AFP members upon returning
The blonde American woman running our E-Safety Commission who had the fight with Elon Musk over the mosque stabbing is the one pushing for these prosecutions too
Matt, I may be a “coward” for choosing to remain anonymous on this forum, but I get to sleep well at night knowing I’m not the biggest piece of [use your imagination] on the planet that would say things like this. I can’t speak for other companies/people but I (and I hope many others that have seen this thread) will not longer be supporting anything you’re a part of. Grow up and be a professional/adult instead of throwing a racist temper tantrum over something that could have been fixed easily.
Btw, I like the track all access workout videos a lot. I’ll take my views and attention over there from now on
The best was like 5 years ago before he was a YouTube sensation and he had a subscription part to his site that claimed to give you Canova and Kipchoge training logs.
Once you signed up there was no way to cancel, he would not respond to emails, and the only way out was to repeatedly dispute the credit card charge every month until it stopped.
It's still up to them to decide to activate it under their criteria of being "influential" and a "notable public figure", apparently gauged by the traffic your strava profile gets. I assume his business Youtube and Instagram pass whatever threshold they use for followers or views.
Strava as a company seems to take a pretty "sure, whatever, why not" approach to a lot of things (updates, communication with users, [in]consistency across platforms ).
They do have a 'no discrimination' clause on the verified athlete thing. I suppose this episode might trigger that (but again, they give off a huge vibe of "not our problem" about their own product, so I doubt any action would get taken unless he uses his own Strava account to continue this performance).
Is there anything we can do to get some bigger names in the running world to comment or bring attention to it? LetsRun, Citius, Coffee Club, Youtubers (Kofuzi, Eric Floberg), sponsors (Stryd, Ketone IQ, Soar), etc.
