I think you really got to watch out for Mira Costa, Ventura and Trabuco. Costa is mainly incoming juniors who have 4:20 miles. Ventura despite losing Fasthorse is still strong. And Trabuco led by Jubak and decent depth can go far.
Trabuco time trials.
Boys were missing their #2 (Abdallah)
Girls were missing one of their top 4 (Desormeau) and transfer Guilfoile
I predict that some kids will run some RIDICULOUSLY FAST times on a pancake-flat course in perfect conditions, the internet running nerd industrial complex will flip a b*tch, and then said kids will run slower and slower each subsequent race, until they are cooked at the state meet.

Except that the boyz and girlz team champions at NXN both won woodbridge. It is hard for some peoplez, we get it.
Woodbridge is a joke. Way to early in the season, and might as well just be three miles on a track. Not a cross country race by any semblance of the name. Guess people like to get the fake times that the race produces.
Wonder how long the race will actually be this year. They going to screw up the measurement again?

Mira Costa will be up there again. Although they do lose a lot of people, they still return 3 guys from the state meet, and from that meet they were missing Ian Hansen, who ran a 9:19 and 4:16 this spring, and will be a senior this year. They return 4:16, 4:21, 4:22, 4:23, 4:24, 4:32, 4:32 1600 times but we need to see how this translates to XC. Only 2 people in this group will be seniors so the future is bright for them.
Woodbridge is fun for the athletes. It's a festival for runners early in the season as you get alot of out of states competitors. BTW the course changed again because the City of Irvine built an amphitheatre where the Start used to be. I'm working with the organizer to put up a video of the new course run through. And 3 miles for sure.

I hope they nail it because there are girls that have run 15:30-15:45 consistently over 3 miles on the track, so would love to see a sub-15:30 at Woodbridge.

woodbridge is still an xc course with flats and is not comparable to a track with spikes. they would have to get quite a bit faster to do that. But woodbridge brings out more talent in some athletes (that they never seen before) similar to how Arcadia does it, with all the hype and excitement
They also have another 4:27 1600 incoming junior, and also another incoming junior who ran a 16:38 5k at CIF but did tennis in the spring instead of track.
That makes them 7-deep, so if one person has an off-day it won’t hurt them as much as it would hurt Oaks Christian.
Oaks Christian got a solid 5th runner who transferred in, but all 5 scorers need to be on when it counts, since they don’t have an amazing 6th and 7th to back them up.
First official update on the woodbridge sweepstakes entries. Last year they had 34 teams compete in the sweepstakes race. Officially they accepted about 20 teams and some individuals right now
I think Clovis North and Matilda Torres should also be added. They looked really strong against Buchanan. Also I wonder where Mira Costa and Jesuit are. Maybe they asked to be in the rated

Buchanan’s #1 (sanders) was only their 5th man at Fleet Feet which made their score a little higher.
But race placements can change. That happened a couple of years ago when Newbury Park’s B team was originally in the sweepstakes race, and then they were moved down to the rated race
