Sally's point (that has been made far too many times after baiting stupid arguments) is that a person becomes a felon after the judge enters the verdict at the sentencing, and not before.
It has been a big talking point in right way la la land. "Trump ISN'T a FELON!" with little regard for the fact that he will be on July 11th.

He did not buy it when high. He was out of rehab when he bought it. He was convicted because he wrote a memoir about his addiction and the timelines overlapped. Proving he lied.

Biden won’t have to pardon him because the court will likely just give him probation. The DOJ had to bring this case because the evidence was so overwhelming that they couldn’t ignore it and still say they were being impartial with Trump. The fact is they let the tax evasion charge lapse (even though it was just as obvious) because it had more teeth and the discovery process would have further implicated the sitting president. On the off chance he is sent to prison, Biden will pardon him after he loses in November (if he is still the candidate then). Politics is ugly. Hunter’s penchant for cocaine and hookers made him an easy target for foreign entities looking to manipulate Biden.

After combing several discussion boards, I have arrived at this conclusion:
After years of screaming that Hunter is a criminal and should be locked up, right wingers changed their tune and hoped he would be found not guilty because they believed it would bolster their claims that the DOJ has been weaponized, the system is fixed, and so on.
Hunter's conviction makes it harder to defend Trump by attacking the system, and that has them BIG MAD.
Democrats, on the other hand, believe in the rule of law, so they had no dog in this fight, didn't care if he was found guilty, are happy that it shows the system works, and are ABSOLUTELY DRINKING CONSERVATIVE TEARS right now.
