With Coogan/coach confirming ESP will race the 5000, does appear at this point that ESP, Cranny & Schweizer will be the heavy favorites to make the team -- and Valby as the alternate.
However, Cranny just scratched from the 10000, leaving Kelati as the heavy favorite with Schweizer (declared, but could DNS if she makes the 5k team) likely second then a toss up for 3rd.
So, yes, PV would seem to have an easier path to Paris in the 10k.
But, unless she gets the Q in this Trials race, she would have to hope she gets in on WA rankings points -- which others have noted above PV likely will achieve assuming she runs a fast enough time (something under 32:00 has been mentioned).
Seems like six-of-one, half-a-dozen of the other.
Since PV does things her way, sort of expecting she will do both (she is now accepted/declared for both but could opt out of either one at any time).
As a fan, hoping Parker will race the 5000. Three Olympians and AR holders, PV with her college records, then a host of other very good runners at/under 15:00. Must watch TV.
