Kaczmarek just won Euros in 48.98 with a semi the day before, Adeleke ran 49.07 the same way with a relay leg in the mixed as well, Jamaican Nickisha Pryce 48.89 at NCAA.
I don't know how many of you are kids or what, but some of us are old enough to remember the 1980s. Kersee is not stupid; he learned his lesson years ago when one of his former athletes, Angela Bailey, outed him as a drugs coach during the Canadian Dubin Inquriy (in court, under oath, I might add...) Then another of his athletes, Darrell Robinson, publicly accused him of supplying his athletes steroids & HGH....and Kersee didn't dare to sue him, he just called him a lunatic. (what clean coach would allow someone to slander them in public and not sue?) He was always known as The Drugs Coach back then.
Thereafter he created his inner circle. If you aint on that list, you aint coming in, and you aint getting the special stuff.
He was still doing it in the 90s right up until this day, but like every other cheat he's had to get clever about it. No more injecting ridiculous amounts of drugs in the knowledge random testing didn't exist (RIP Flo Jo) it was finding the new drugs (think 'The Clear' & THG...it was that level) and nowadays it's being super clever with microdosing. Be careful about where you compete because they might test you. Only compete out of cycle. Just consume enough to get it out the system quickly.
There is absolutely no doubt McLaughlin is immensely talented. But there's also no doubt her coach was & is a stinkin' cheat.
They didn't work for Allyson Felix either. She should ask for her money back. I mean after winning a gold at Worlds as a teen, and running such great times at such a young age, one would think she would have been murdering sub 22 left right and center with all the alleged drugs her coach procures. Felix go get your money back.
She ran 21.69 and got multiple World Gold medals and an Olympic Gold and two Silvers.
She is NOWHERE NEAR Bolt level of “greatness”—at least, not yet.
Bolt absolutely destroyed two old PED-era records, one in the absolute marquee event, and was part of another old PED-era-record-smashing relay record, in the premier relay event.
SML has a WR in an event that nobody has really cared about. Get back to me when she gets the flat-400m WR and is on the WR-breaking 4x4 relay—at which time I will point out that W400m/400mH/4x4 doesn’t come close to comparing to M100m/200m/4x1.
unless an athlete had below mediocre talent, so the dosing could only do as much
FLO-JO disproves what you are saying unless you are attempting a tongue in cheek remark. FLO-JO was a mediocre talent but then became supreme.
She got silver in the 200 running 22.04 in 1984, behind the Kersee enhanced Brisco Hooks. This inspired her to switch to Kersee after disappearing from competition for three years. Then suddenly in 1988 she's superwoman.

all slower. what’s your point?
The point is your Levrone isn't the only one who can break 49. And .2 or less isn't a huge margin to overcome. Especially when Levrone runs setup races while the others ran actual competition with heats.
Typical fanboy...no critical thinking just idolization.

To be clear, Flo Jo ran in 1987, and won World silver in the 200m. But this was simply a build up to her Olympic campaign the following year. I wouldn't personally call Flo Jo mediocre at all, she was an elite sprinter, she just needed that small boost.....but instead she got a huge boost. And we tragically know what that ended up doing to her.
Hooks was different. She certainly went from very mediocre to outstanding, she went from a 52 woman to a 48.8 women, with a 21.8 thrown in the mix.
Kersee also transformed Devers & Joanna Hayes don't forget, the former going from pretty decent to Olympic champion the latter also decent, but then suddenly drops to 12.3 and grabs an Olympic title.
There's a reason why his biggest successes have been with women.

If sydney comes out and runs a 49.5 hurdles, 47.2 400 flat, and a 21.6 200, she will be met with more suspicion than applause . Is she capable of that ? only time will tell.

Nowhere near Bolt.
I agree if we solely look at their PBs in their two best events.
Bolt’s WA scores for his 100 and 200 are 1356 and 1352.
Sydney’s scores for her 400H and 400 are 1312 and 1257.
Huge advantage for Bolt there, not to mention his full career accolades.
*However*
If we look at overall excellence across multiple events, the comparison tilts in Sydney’s favor. This year, Sydney has had the fastest time in the world in three individual championship events. Bolt never accomplished that.
Moreover, in her career Sydney has produced marks that would meet the Olympic qualifying standards in four individual events: 100H, 200, 400, and 400H. That’s twice as many as Bolt.
Sure, Bolt had the physical talent to be great in the 400, but he didn’t have the mindset be elite in that event at the pro level. We all know it’s an excruciating event, and he didn’t have the disposition for it. Props to Sydney for excelling in two of the most physically difficult events in the sport.
So, sheer greatness: Bolt Overall greatness across multiple events: Sydney Bonus points for shining in events that hurt like no others: Sydney

Felix ran 21.69 at Trials. It was the only sub 21.7 in her entire career. Her next best times were two 21.8s. She ran this 21.69 about 40 years it seems, after her world leading time of 21.1 to win gold at Worlds as a teen. The "drugs" should have had her running 21.5 and 21.6 and 21.7s every which day to Sunday. She was either given placebos or bad batches. For such plateaued performances despite being pumped with drugs according to some of you indicate she should sue for her money back as the drugs did not work. They also didn't work for her in the 400M. Montleshoo who was banned for drugs beat her in the 400M and she never dropped below 49. She better get her money back.

But FLO-JO was a mediocre talent. Just like Prandini and Akinosun are mediocre talents. So the "drugs" that Kersee must be allegedly pumping them with should also have them running spectacular times as they did FLO-JO. Unless of course - there are no drugs.

47.2 is not possible for any woman not even Sydney. That's DSD territory (Mboma before hormone curtailing treatments).
I believe a sub 50 for 400H is possible. But it would be 49 high. Somewhere around 49.9 or at best 49.89. To blow pass those with substantially material times, would cause eyebrows, fingers and whole hands to be raised.
