Thorner made sure Doris L had to run hard in the SEC 3000s taking it out at 9:20ish pace. It slowed but then Doris went something like 71/69 for last 2 laps to finish in 9:28. Was Thorners job to make sure it was fast and take as much as possible out of Doris ahead of Saturday 5000?
With a 9:28 PB from a month ago, why wouldn’t Thorner try to run that, if not better it, at Home, if fit?
A 9:28 is a 1:53.6 split for 600m, and she clocked 1:55.4 for the first 600m. Maybe she’d been able to hold on longer in cooler conditions, but gave it a go, and still got 2nd to the semi-pro.
