Hassan doesn't look totally confortable early on on the group
We've merged two Tokyo threads into 1 and remind you we'll be going live at 8 pm ET to break down World Indoors and catch the end of Tokyo:

have to wonder how much of that is pain and how much is annoyance. She seemed less than happy with a few of the men in some shots of the women's lead group

Some grimacing even. Always hard to know with her.

On the other hand, EK looks smooth.
I am on a Japanese feed someone linked to. Even though I can't understand a word the coverage is much better than US marathons. We aren't seeing human interest stories nor wheelchair race breakaway coverage.
Kipchoge at 28:30 (10k)
42:52 for 15k, slowed slightly on that last 5k.

Cold but bright sun. The sun can wear you down even when it’s brisk out.
Sang and Kipkemboi train with Kipchoge and are pacing which has to be a help for Kipchoge
Hattori with the double bottle set up ... nice!

Kipchoge looks buff, like he’s hit the weight room.

Pacer Kipkemboi out early
Kipchoge starting to smile a bit, seems a bit earlier than usual for that
Other than EK the group looks frazzled. He might be on his own shortly if he wants to keep this pace.
Interesting to see Eliud talk to a pacer about the pace (tapped him and pacer immediately looked at his watch). Seems like they are slowing it down as Ngetich was able to latch back on.
