Also, just wanna say that Coleman has come across as a very lame and not fun guy for his entire career. Watching Noah go crazy after winning the 60m title and the pan to Coleman looking upset was absolutely perfect.
So if you were world class would you "chose a personality" or just be your normal self (a talented person that trains very hard.)? Coleman isnt boring, he's normal.
Coleman's boring AF and has always been somewhat standoffish. As a track participant and fan, someone who spends money to go to meets, I want drama and a show, just like any other sport. The drama and show aren't detracting from the racing in any meaningful way. If it were, I'd have a different opinion.
WTF is wrong with him? Is he desperate for attention? OK, so he's fast - great - but the phony wanna be histrionics is cringe level 100. People were actually laughing at him in the stands in ABQ. This is not Mohammed Ali talking trash, this is some weird anime kid with painted finger nails, a high pitched voice and low self esteem pretending to be a tough guy and failing miserably. It's hard to like this guy when he acts like a world class douchebag all the time.
Who was this entrance intended for, 5 year olds? No actual track & field sprint fan thinks this is as cool as he thinks it is. Has he looked at the demographic that watches track & field sprints? Has he ever been to a track meet and actually looked around to see who is there cheering? What am I missing?
Really enjoyed Lyles over the last few years, setting great times, winning the big ones and aiming high. Seeing him do Coleman over 60 shows big things are coming in the Summer. He'll have a lot more haters by then! Doubles at Olympics and all time great position is ensured!

Im glad you find his character entertaining. Like wrestling I guess one is forced to take on a persona, he chose the easy one, the flamboyant and cocky. He's not quite a "heel" but edgier than the "good guy".
Other choices:
-the advocate for a cause (pick any one)
-the Holy Roller
-the 'bro
- the beauty queen (ladies only)
- the rebel
- "just glad to be here and have this opportunity"

I'd pick any of those except "Just glad to be here and have this opportunity." That's how I know you're an NPC. I'd probably go more the rebel route. Channel my inner Gabe Jennings.

Seems like he chooses to do things that he enjoys and are important to him, with less concern than you for the "demographic that watches track and field" (yawn).
Seems like about 500,000 people follow this track and field athlete on Instagram, over twice as many as Christian Coleman and five times as many as Erriyon Knighton (who probably act like you think they "should").
This clearly brings him more happiness (and money) than pandering to how a bunch of middle-aged men think he should act.
