Edwin Moses: 122 wins in a row over nearly 10 years
Grant Holloway has gotta be closing in on that in the indoor 60m hurdles. He hasn't lost since 2014. Idk how many races.
On last weekend’s broadcast, Ato Boldon said Holloway’s streak is “60 and counting.” I just checked his World Athletics profile, and I count 63. That means he’s either less than halfway there or barely halfway. A loooong way to go!
We should also note that Holloway’s streak includes high school and college races. Moses’s streak was all at the senior level. I don’t see anyone approaching that streak, especially if we only count pro races. Not even Bolt could come close.
Someone said Merckx?! There are countries who are major players in world cycling that can't match his records. He has as many Grand Tours as Britain, more classics than Slovenia/Denmark/Switzerland combined. More total wins than Cavendish and Pettacchi combined etc. Ridiculous numbers. And against arguably a 15/20 year stretch of the greatest cyclists ever.

Not sure this is a record but an achievement, Mary Decker was ranked 4th in the world at age 14. For all the talk about these amazing HS girls times we are seeing, they are not sniffing that success 50 years ago in old shoes. (Yes, we have more East Africans now, but less full-testosterone eastern block athletes). She set 3 world records by age 15 (Mile, 800, and 880). That's not going to be "broken" by an american anyway.
people have gotten much closer (81%) to that record than gretzky's points or assists in a career
Chamberlains 100 pt game was done before the three point line even existed.
His record will always stand as most impressive even if it gets broken with modern rules.
Crazy record, but "impressive"? It was well known that his team just fed him the ball the whole game and of course at that time he was literally head and shoulders bigger than everyone ( he scored over 60 like 30 times). Ill take anybody's 70pts nowadays over Wilts 100. 3 pt shot notwithstanding.
Didn't 3 players just score 70 with one players not really scoring in the 4th?
Klay Thompson and Carmelo Anthony have scored 30+ in a quarter. 100 is definitely doable. The team has to commit to it the same way wilts team probably did lol.
Take away the 3 point shot and none of these modern day players come close to Wilt's 100 point game. Imagine if Wilt had a 3 point shot in 1962, the record could have been 115 or 120 points.
If that record ever gets broken. it deserves an asterisk.
If wilt had attempted 3 pointers instead of dunks or lay ins then he would have scored 40 in that game instead of 100

That's why I didn't even respond lol. You see the defense played against wilt lol. With 3's he definitely scores less.

Didnt Engelhardt break that mile record when she was in 8th grade (14)? Or are you saying breaking three records while 15 or under is some kind of record itself?

Those weren't "Age Group World Records" that Decker set - they were WORLD INDOOR RECORDS.
