I think "Why are you quoting yourself?" may just be the most obnoxious poster I've ever seen on letsrun. I can't believe I actually read through all the trash he just posted. My God.

Please no harassment, I was only stating the facts like a journalist or a scientist
Ai least 20 runners in the OT could run 16 miles at 4:47 without a problem. And no one would feel compelled to boast about it. Its a training session.Nothing more. Have some perspective.
You were clearly a faster miler/steeple chaser than him so you should have been able to do workouts he couldn’t.
Not arguing that other runners in the trials couldn’t do it, but why are you compelled to boast about it when your running history indicates that on your best day you’d barely be able to run that in a race.
It makes you seem very out of touch boomerish trying to hang onto your glory. Just admit runners are faster now (for whatever reason), give him some credit and move on.
I agree with my friend here as the facts are on our side

Yes! I wish he could be deleted. I told him to go bother other people.

You have to go away. Period. Stop responding, stop posting. Do everyone a favor and go away.

I wouldn't go that far. I dont think that hes obnoxious. He lacks perspective and hes just tilting at windmills. No foul here.

You just spent 18 hours harassing Malmo so don't act like a little b*tch when you get called out for it.

OK, "Why are you quoting yourself"... Using your logic, Zach hasn't run 4:47 pace for 16 miles either right?! I mean, if he did it in training, and none of us were there to see it, and it wasn't done in a verified race, then did it happen? Isn't there a decent chance that Malmo (and others) may have run similar workouts back in the day? You maintain that he never did, but how to you KNOW that?! I mean, how do you KNOW that Zach did? And I'm a big Zach fan and think he's about to crush it in Orlando.

Yeah we don’t know for sure if Zach did it this is true
I know George Malley and he could have easily run 4:47 pace in the middle of a 130 mile week in warm conditions. He was great at many distances.
Zach Panning was not bragging about this run. He was answering a question in the middle of an interview.
Hansons have done great with many overlooked athletes. Brian Sell was not as good as 10 athletes when he made the team. Des Linden has the weakest college times of any woman Olympic marathoner in the last 20 years. Now Zach Panning a D2 guy is in the mix.

Well, we do have Strava gps data supporting Zach’s claim. Run in Florida on Monday.
Hansons loves simulators and overtraining and running too fast
Whats your evidence? Hansons have a long history of taking second tier athletes and making them competitive on the National, and sometimes International scene. In my opinion thats doing something right. If that's overtraining, perhaps you should be taking notes?
Panning is an outlier on the team. He has more talent. I support the development of runners who are not the top tier in college but the thing is the Hansons runners don’t perform better than you would expect based on their college stats. Have literally any top 100 college kid keep training after college you would see the same or better results.
The Hansons training seems fine overall but it seems like the “simulators” are more about building confidence than fitness and they do a lot of hard efforts on tired legs which seems to be the opposite direction for current popular training systems.
I am sort of being a hater but I actually like Hansons, and I am rooting for Panning at the trials. I wish more teams could occupy that space of developing sub elite athletes on the cusp of elite, but the reality is Hansons is a pro team that would not podium at ncaa xc.
