Except the East Bloc were dominating literally every Olympic sport while you lot claim Kenya has a cutting-edge doping programme that apparently only works for running and no other sport. What you've been pushing is that Kenyans are supposedly inferior runners boosted by pharmaceuticals only Kenyans use and the rest of the world hasn't discovered. Ludicrous.
Kenyans scarcely participate in any other sport. Their athleticism is suited to little else.
You are stupid. You think all Kenyans are skinny? Stupid, ignorant idiot you are.
African women distance runners are carving chunks off the world's best times by the month. They are now faster than the great Zatopek over 10k and approaching Billy Mills at Tokyo '64, as well as former record-holders Bolotnikov and Clarke in '64. At this rate they will be sub-28mins in another year or so. But fans will continue to see nothing.
In the mid-60's the fastest men could run 1:44 for the 800. No woman - however doped - will get near that, or even sub-1:50. They are currently struggling to surpass 1:55 - even doped. The reason they can't get near male times for that distance but are closing in on male times for longer distances is simple. No woman can dope to equal male strength, which is what the shorter distance requires. But doping can massively increase stamina for both men and women - and that is what we are seeing in the flood of women's (and men's) faster distance times.
Since the 60's some 20% of improvements in athletic performance have been from training, shoes and tracks. The remaining 80% is doping. We have just seen further glaring demonstration of that.

I'm not sure if she's legit or not but unless we have anything to prove the contrary, we should assume she's legit.
Looking at the video it was interesting to see her running most of the race with British international Jack Gray, 30 years old, with pbs of 350, 803, 1341, 2827, and 1:03:16. That is the level she is at now and it was also amusing to see her running with Jake Smith a 60-minute half marathon runner, from Great Britain, who was trying to keep up with her but got blown away - having said that Jake Smith is on the comeback trail having been injured for the past couple of years.
Looking at the video it looks like the first five to eight kilometers of the course are basically downhill albeit a slide downhill but if that is really the case and I'm not being deceived by an optical illusion then this record should not stand. It reminds me of that Las Vegas half marathon course which is also a similar profile.
Do others agree with this assessment or am I missing something?

There is only one reason how a woman can now be on a par with a male international - in any sport.

She flew through the first five kilometers in 14:12 with the other Kenyan girl right behind her and Jack Gray the 13:41/2827 British runner straining to keep up.
Kiplimo and Cheptegey appear to have exactly the same running style with their arms high, body erect and mechanical stride.

You are missing something. It must be legal in terms of start/finish location (not too far apart) and elevation drop to be eligible for a world record.

It will be interesting to see what she can run on the track and if she can run 2920 or under on the track then I think the course is legit but if she ends up running only around 30 minutes on the track I will think this course is highly advantageous and the times might not be representative of the athlete's true value.
Having said that, she was running around international runners like Briton, Jack Gray, who are mid-28 minute runners (Jack Gray, 13:41/28:27, 1:03:16), so she's a great athlete whichever way you look at it. There were other athletes of that time level running just in front of her or behind her.
Not that impressive giving that 1. they have the advantage of using male pacers 2. it's the freaking Valencia course, which is crazy fast. Wake me up when they set a record in all female race in a place other than Valencia

Kip Keino vs Jim Ryun, in my opinion the best running doc ever made. 55 years of dominance, long before PEDs came on scene. Watch and weep.

Since I'm honest I'm going to say they were lacking support at that time. Look at Dave Moorcrof at this race, world recorder of the distance 2 years before ... he was dropped one round before.
Isn't this a proof that Britain were doping at that time? By the way Aouita didn't get the mile record because the Britannic were removing his name from the dream mile of Bislet Games every year (1985; 1986; 1987; 1988, 1989 and that that coward of Cram that was removing his name from the lists).
You can see the medias were racists at this time surrounding Cram as he was a king. And this was happening in Norway the country of democracy.
