This would only be useful if there was a way to quantify the objectivity of the voters. Hamas would get more up votes than down votes on most college campuses. That doesn't mean Hamas is worth listening to.
This right here is exactly what we mean when someone hijacks a post and inputs their complete unprovoked biased bigoted remarks that have nothing to do with the original post. He knows if that happens his favorability score would be 10%.
I would suggest making everyone register with their real names and keep the posts to running, track & field and things that touch the sport.
FBI crime statistics show conclusively that someone as angry as you are from your demographic can't be trusted with other people's real names.
I can see by this thread that some people take this site way to seriously. The ownership structure? Dude, who cares?
This is a shill type question.
But I get it. When I tried to report letsrun last year to the Fort Worth BBB and to the City of Fort Worth, based on knowledge that letsrun was apparently out of Fort Worth, none of the agencies had any records. This is a good way to make money rogue style.
Simply place a limit on how many posts a given user or IP address can post in a day or on one page of a topic.
Frankly, discussions get taken over by the same old posters who beat some dead horse into the ground, over and over, day after day. It kills a thread, and it kills the board.
We get it - we don't need to keep hearing it. This format allows some users to dominate discussions and do so over and over again.
Just limit how often they can post. That will force them to make their point, make it concise, and allow free discussion.

I'd love to see a better job done keeping the crazies away from actual running threads. Whether it's better moderators or some better automated rules (no need for buzzwords like ai) - it's a shame how much garbage ends up marked running related.
Even within running related threads you have people going on and on about politics and the vaccine or just 2 idiots taking over a thread and going back and forth amongst themselves. It just turns me off this site so much. Now even some people are using their usernames or whatever that little slogan underneath is to spew their garbage in unrelated posts - please block that.
I'd say M.LR.G.A. again since that's a slogan you guys can get behind, but great seems like a stretch, how about you just make it suck a little less
For each registered user, it would be cool if their “profile” contained their lifetime comments ratings. So you could click on any registered user’s handle and see a running count of how many upvotes and downvotes they’ve gotten along with their favorability score. For example, if someone has received a total of 3,000 upvotes and 1,000 downvotes in all their years of posting, their favorability score would be 75.0%.

Doesn't work.. they are committed and will still be the more prolific posters and will simply use multiple handles (see Sally Vix) as they wish.
Allow a single political thread for registered users only, because on most threads any topical deviation immediately results in the same political bickering. That should cut down moderation work significantly across the site.

Absolutely this. 2 - 3 posts on 1 page (out of 20 posts, so 10 - 15%) should be plenty for 1 user in a normal discussion.
Bonus: when it's down to Armstrongslives and rekrunner trolling each other, the thread is literally on its last page.

I absolutely like this idea.
But what about a thread where someone is an expert or certified expert or a coach in a field where they are literally and figuratively the only one who should be giving answers (like the Deena Q & A).
Which reminds me. I'd love to see more athlete Q & A... and maybe not just elites.
1. PLEASE delete and ban the unfounded doping accusations. They're not freedom of speech the same as if someone made up a lie about you that can hurt your reputation.
2. You used to cover road racing more. I'd like to see a return to that (along with links to races all over the world, if possible).
I know this is a lot of work and I love this site for the resource it is.

Wow, are you really that naive? How old are you? BBB has no authority of any kind. It's like the Chamber of Commerce or the United Water Buffaloes. They shakedown local businesses for membership dues to keep there doors open and lights on. That's it.
