No I'm saying he should have gotten the ball more in 4th quarter when they had the lead. He's less likely to fumble and Milroe's fumble probably cost them the game.
Basically, what you’re doing is checking the game-end stats, picking the back with the highest yards per carry and saying he should have been given the ball more.
Even with a lead, 3 and outs are deadly. Against Michigan’s run defense , Alabama needed to attempt passing the ball. Just rushing the ball wouldn’t have got it done.
They didn't give McClellan the ball in the 4th quarter when they had the lead and needed to kill clock.
McClellan had 4 carries for 22 yards in the 3rd quarter.
McClellan had 2 carries for 21 yards in the 4th quarter.
He ran effectively they just didn't give him the ball.
They ran with Milroe instead and he fumbled and cost them the game because he never secures the football.
When you average 7.7 after 14 carries you're pretty consistent.
You might be the most stupid poster here. The guy averaged 6.2 yards per carry, as he had 14 carries for 87 yards. But even if he had 108 yards on 14 carries, he could have had a 90 yard run and then 13 carries for 18 yards. You must be really stupid.
Lolol from the dunce who has been wrong up and down this entire thread.
Who cares? The best two and undefeated teams are left. #1 versus #2. As it should be in the final, final 4 era. I’m guessing the committee feels good about it. Both of those games came down to the last play last night, literally.
Alabama has the ball and all the momentum in the world. A touchdown basically wins the game.
1st down they finally give it McClellan and he runs for 4 yards. 2nd down they give it to McClellan again and he runs for 17 yards.
And then he never sees the ball for the rest of regulation.
Why?
I already explained this to you. The penalty stalled that drive. Teams generally don’t run on 1st and 15. The last drive when they only had 1:34 left on the clock was not a running situation.
Giving the ball to McClelland is no sure thing. They tried that in overtime, and they failed. He had two carries for -5 yards in overtime.

They threw a 2 yard pass on 1st and 15. If you can throw a 2 yard pass you can run. They threw again on 2nd and 13 ensuring it would be 3rd and long and then got sacked on 3rd and long. Run the damn ball.
And there was plenty of time to run with 1:34 left.
According to my eye balls during the game and the ESPN play by play he did.
2nd & 6 at ALA 35 (9:39 - 4th) Jase McClellan run for 17 yds to the MICH 48 for a 1ST down
My bad, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t get a 2-yard gain on his next carry.
The problem for Alabama was that they weren’t having success in passing the ball. They were having more success with trying to create the illusion of passing the ball by having Miloe drop back, and then running, than handing the ball off McClellen. It was also the play that got them within the 10- yard line in overtime. Miloe only fumbled 3 times in 161 carries during the regular season so it wasn’t as risky as you say it was.

When you never run the ball with anyone but the QB it's easy to blitz and spy the QB.
The only time they stopped McClellan all day was in overtime.
I didn't watch any Alabama games during the season I just saw him running in this game and thought he was fumble every time he ran because he held the ball like a loaf of bread and usually had it in the wrong arm if he bothered to tuck it away.
I was torn on this game. On the one hand, a 1 loss and struggling Alabama win would have ended this dumb playoff travesty sooner. On the other though, seeing the entitled Alabama faithful cry and Sagan continue to work his sleepy genius routine was priceless. They'll pay for this for a couple years, I think, and Herbstreit looks like an even bigger idiot - much as I didn't think that possible.
I can guarantee you Alabama wouldn't have beaten FSU by 60
The FSU team that went 13-0 would have easily been competitive in this game. Who knows whether they would have won, but they deserved the chance to try.
Alabama gave us nothing that FSU wouldn't have.
The Committee blew it.
Your argument is LAME! "If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle". Would've, Could've, Should've.
Part of football, in fact, part of all athletics is attrition. Its not where you're from, its where you're at. FSU lost its best player (QB no less), and they barely won out without him. They clearly were not the same team that started the season, and definitely were not a top 4 playoff team. Unlucky? yes sir! The problem is that there are too many good teams and not enough playoff spots. That's why they're expanding the playoff. Georgia and Bama both deserved to be in the playoff.
