Dear Jeff, you know what, I actually agree with you on this. Jakob and Narve are generally not in the same league in the past year. However, it remains to be seen if they shall be in the same in this current new year.

Also, I see lots of ignorant comments by LRC folks on this thread saying that 'altitude training' (referring to the elevation in meters above sea level) is the key to (supposedly gain red blood cells) to perform well in high-performance running lol! That's just so wrong! I would rather an athlete takes PEDs and perform well than think he will perform well going up and coming back down from altitude to race lol! For me PEDs is 1000 times more effective than 'altitude/elevation'.

Instead it's far more accurate to say that 'the RELATIVELY RF-free and EMF-free environments that accompanies mountainous small towns in Europe/America/Africa provides the human high-performing body better recovery powers which translates to performing well upon return to sea level'.

Am I right dear Jeff?

It's true the 1500m is the pedestal event. It happened with my man Hicham El Guerrouj as well. The race was lost when El G was in the race. Everybody would just let him dictate the race and be a follower. Nuguse is good but I wouldn't discount Josh, Jake or Narve's space-time. Championship races are indeed very different from circuit ones.

El G on the other hand didn't duck races in his prime. He was racing almost every week in either Olympic or world championship year and winning them all except the big one.

Nordas and Kerr are definitely kind of runners that can run only up to 3 good races by season.

Katir, Nuguse, R. Cheruiyot are in an other league.

Jakob for now is in his alone league.

Of course, Jakob and Josh knows that in their speech and actions to the media and interviewers. They are rightfully in awe of El G because he had no wavelights, supershoes nor doped track surfaces but still beat them handily! Yet, I affirm that this awestruck wonder Josh and Jakob has for El G is extremely unfounded for lack of complete knowledge of epigenetics and the effects of anthropogenic RF and EMF on both short and long term high-performance physiology. I"m trying to say that if Jakob and Josh knew that El G actually had the only major advantage over them that mattered----that of which is the lack of 3G, 4G and 5G mobile telecommunications/digital airwaves in the environment when training and racing in the 1990s and early 2000s, then they wouldn't be in any awe of El G at all for beating them without wavelights, supershoes and doped track surfaces because these 3 factors are superficial compared to the primary RF and EMF factors.

El G actually had TRUE ADVANTAGE over Josh and Jakob in actual actuality!!! How surprising for most LRC folks when I say this from an RF/EMF perspective---which is the only perspective that matters in the universe, nothing else comes close.
