Should have added to the problematic things the posters who constantly target Greg and Deno. It's human nature I guess but I find it sad that people come on here and just target other posters.
Going to put the final word on Greg and his stalkers. First of all, the mods all treat Greg the same. We all try to give him some room but he makes it difficult. He's no angel. He's constantly repeating the same topics over and over and frequently starts them for the purpose of attacking those who have been harassing him. Even when he is on-topic his stalkers are successful at derailing his threads. Greg does not deserve the treatment he's been given, and it's understandable why he would want to lash out.

I will also add this. I am not gay but my own father is a really good man, from what I can tell, and he is all little homophobic, so I do believe that the older generations are much more likely to be that way.

While a lot of what we try and get a handle on is posters insulting one another or being disrespectful to one another, the biggest issues for moderators besides making the judgement call on post reported to us, are a handful of posters who are obsessed about a particular issue and essentially make the boards much worse off because of it. They try and hijack the boards for their own obsessions.
Right now there is
1) A poster posting over and over about Nico Young's personal life. Not only are the posts homophobic but the person is sidetracking probably at this point hundreds of threads with this stuff. We ban the poster, etc, but they keep coming back for more. So if you see any posts like this the best you can do is report them.
2) A poster this week has probably started 50 threads saying we are unethical. We tried to engage in good faith but they kept doing it so we now are just removing these.
3) There is always the poster who starts threads about California, San Fransisco, computing, Semetic races, etc. Very obsessive behavior. Has gone on for years. They are very computer savvy. We ban and delete on a daily basis.

I believe that these occasional attempts by Wejo to address moderation are nothing more than listening sessions, which might have some utilitarian value as a sign of him being well intentioned but ultimately result in little to no change. And they are in a very difficult position here as it is impossible to please everyone. However, I too have participated in the ridiculous BBC threads because, as Wejo alludes to, Deno has said some things we don’t like. Well what Deno has done is trash homosexuals repeatedly. Let us not sugarcoat it as something we do not like. And Greg is always starting threads looking to get a reaction and then reporting posters. I think we should all, myself included, recognize that posting here is a privilege, even if we dislike other posters, and not a right, and that we can forfeit that right by our behavior.
Please report Denos posts then. The truly homophobic stuff I see is in response to Deno. Very graphic sexual stuff that is also homophobic

I think this is good. There is a line between "blacks are violent" vs legitimate criticisms of things like affirmative action or certain equity policies, but where do you draw it? Some crime post may be dog whistling but that doesn't mean there should be no discussion of crime at all, especially if it's newsworthy - e.g. a congress member is carjacked
Same with gender too: leftists call any criticism of allowing biological male to compete in women sports as bigoted.
