It's the threat to the sanctity of 40+ years of progress in women's sports that is scary... not this particular person.
Good attempt at choosing a video of a white, blonde, effeminate, "non-threatening" trans athlete though.
How exactly is "the sanctity of 40+ years of progress in women's sports" threatened if that girl is allowed to play field hockey?
Here you go with the language games again. You call this male a "girl" to suggest that people are waging a campaign against a misfit female rather than a misogynist policy that impedes fair competition.
How can a guy get any satisfaction of any kind out of beating girls in anything physical? That trophy he won vs the girls he'd be proud of, how sad is that? Who would praise him for beating girls, try nobody.
At 6-2 275, hold it.............try 268, I could beat my three sisters and my wife in a tug of war, I'm a bad man. I can open up jars none of them can with just my bare hands. When it comes to arm wrestling what a joke they don't stand a chance, yep, I'm bad to the bone.
At the NCAA level, Lia Thomas and Cece Tefler won their events in D1 swimming and D2 track, respectively. Both are biological males.
"But it's only a couple!"
Exactly. This "it's only a couple" or "it's only 1% of entrants!" rhetoric pushed by the likes of 'justanotherhobbyjogger' is a typically male-centric way of viewing the world, in which women must pipe down and let males enter their space unimpeded; we must always be wary of those who would tear apart common sense safeguarding. Misogynists see the issue from the trans-identified male's perspective of "I'm just 1 entrant out of 100! How can they complain about a measly 1%!", completely oblivious to the fact that a male entering a female event/changing room/rape shelter/prison affects 100% of the females in that space.
A hornet at your dinner party affects everyone there, not just the hornet.

Here's how this works:
- JAHJ has identified a group that he disagrees with, which are the conservatives. While the political landscape is extremely tribal with us vs. them on all issues, and both camps having a lot of problems, he's chosen the absolute worst issue to champion as a cause.
- In doing so he draws historical parallels to concentration camps, apartheid, persecution of homosexuals and more, in an attempt to say that this is history repeating itself. The way he thinks it works is that if you're against today's hot issue, then you're the modern equivalent of a 1943's SS officer.
- This is just old religion vs. new religion, cause it sure as h*ll has nothing to do with science. We all know that sex change for humans is not possible. It's just varying degrees of mutilation. And now it gets interesting. The goal posts are moved. Biology and sex aren't interesting anymore, and the 'social' aspect is all that matters. This is where it becomes 'new religion'. Gender assigned at birth. Trans-kids. Feelings and ideology. If you disagree then you're complicit in genocide like an SS officer. And after they've conceded A) yes, we ignore biology and B) yes, it's a social ideology based on feelings, they usually land on the rhetorical C) "but who does it hurt?" implying a Pareto improvement where no one is worse off while at least one is better off, which is never the case. Women's sports is just a little insignificant drop in the pool of losers. Forcing the majority of the population to join the live action role play is so much worse, especially because a non-negligible amount of people want legal consequences for breaking character. That comes on top of the social consequences through organized activist mobs, cancellations, harassing employers, the whole tool kit of the terminally online tools.
TLDR: Humans' need for religion is deep seated and while many claim to be against religions they've effectively just discarded the old religions for something new.
People than never competed making policy is the problem.
Okay…so where are they? Leftists are in control of virtually all the important culture-making institutions in the United States. And yet this keeps happening. So we’re left with (1) Leftists agree with this travesty; (2) They are too cowardly to speak.
It's the thinking that one person's identity crisis and daily mood swings can undermine fair competition for women who fought for years to get it.
Can you name a democrat politician that has said something that makes you think he believes in what you just wrote? Who was it that stood up for the identity crisis and mood swings of the transgender 1600m runners at CIF? And absolutely no one was on Lia Thomas’s side.
The transgender athletes are losing the battle. They have been effectively banned from FINA and WA and it’s been made very clear to the HS ones that they very unwelcome at any high profile meets.
Would it bother you to know that I'm a lifelong democrat? That I'm allowed to vote Dem AND think the way I do about this issue? Or others? Painting with a broad brush, making political assumptions, placing people in one corner or another with no acknowledgement of nuance or situational complexities... this is a problem. My voting record doesn't automatically determine my views on every issue, see.
Now wrestle with this: I'm pro early childhood ed, universal health care, anti-school choice, pro LGBTQ+ when it comes to nearly all issues (save trans inclusion in women's sports) and yet... pro life? Ha! A pro-life Dem! Crazy isn't it?
Athena Ryan has run 20:42 for 3 miles this XC season (grade 12). She was running 18:32 for 5000m last year and 17:15 two year ago (she was running as a boy two years ago).
Loreli Barrett has not run XC this year. She was running 18:23 for 5000m last year (grade 10).
Not sure if we can say that this is the end of women sport. A little dramatic.
Nobody is saying that one example of two trans runners in 2022 California HS cross country alone constitutes the end of women's sport. But the thinking behind advocating their inclusion is what worries people. The slope here is slippery, and my injustice meter blares at decisions like these. If the madness doesn't stop... yes, women's sports are threatened.
I think that my sample was 100% of the trans girl XC runners in California. If anybody knows others, we can include them in my “population”. A 20:42 trans runner does not threaten anything (other than in your mind). It seems that as soon as the hormones kick in, their performance fall off a cliff.
Allowing her to run may make her feel better however.
Forcing the majority of the population to join the live action role play is so much worse, especially because a non-negligible amount of people want legal consequences for breaking character.
As always, I blame the parents. And the race directors in a distant 2nd. The way we have to deal with broken people who do dumb things is to marginalize them. You cant stop people from doing dumb things. But you can bring as much negative attention to them as possible. Talk about it, give 2 gold medals, whatever it takes to bring as much negative attention to these people. Then they will have some thinking to do before attempting such hijinks.
People than never competed making policy is the problem.
I think I speak for a lot larger group of Dems when I say I do not care at all. The fact that somebody is posting about the 5th ranked cross country runner in Maine as if this is a critical political issue makes me thankful we are making the planet uninhabitable.
We as a species should drive ourselves to extinction as soon as possible.
Should? We are well on the path to doing it. All the downvotes only prove how clueless most people around here are about it.
What does a trans person do at a bar? Do they wait around waiting to be asked to dance? Do they think anyone will ask a guy to dance? How about try outs for NFL teams cheer leaders? If arrested will the cops play along, how about,.....nope. They don't care what you identify as you are a guy.
Come on when is enought enought, you can't pick a gender, you are what you are, If you aren't cool with that nobody cares, you'll need to learn to deal with it but while you try to figure it out don't be annoying and a problem.
He'll care about this if/when the Dem media changes their mind about this issue. Dem voters wait for their instructions from their overlords, they 100% give up all of their free-will to think clearly and independently for themselves. So for now, this guy doesn't care about boys taking from girls even though in many other scenarios I bet he claims he's a "champion for women's rights".
I disagree with the Dem party on almost every issue, but unfortunately my two choices are crooked dems or n@zi repubs so I'm stuck.
But nothing is being taken from girls, if that was truly your worry, you could give dual prizes. Nothing is stopping the NCAA from giving Lia and the second place finisher a NCAA champ trophy apiece.
This issue is 100% just about targeting transgender and maybe some of you are too big of sycophants to realize it, but if your only concern was your perceived 'fairness' in women's sports you wouldn't all hate non-binary divisions so much and you'd come up with other solutions that didn't target marginalized children.
I'm not sure people "hate" non-binary divisions for any reason other than they are unconvinced that "non-binary" identity is a real thing outside of people's heads (and the validation given to it by online activists and so on). If you don't believe that people are really non-binary in any meaningful sense (i.e., not just "I like to dress like both genders sometimes" but actually "if you probed my brain you would literally see results suggesting I am a bit of both genders") then you see the NB division as RDs saying, "here's some extra prize money for men willing to check a different box, because the NB men are going to beat the NB women every time." It was a big fight for a long time to get equal prize money for men and women, and now in the name of being even more progressive than the feminists who fought for that equal prize money, race directors are giving out extra prize money to men. Except the men claim they aren't really men so it's all gravy? Nah. Opposing NB divisions, and being honest and saying NB identity is total baloney, is actually a pro-woman position.
