She looks like someone from a cult. Doesn't speak like a normal person and most of what she says are pre-programmed messages.
Yes, she does say a lot of pre-programmed messages when she talks to the media. But that has nothing to do with religion.
She has some sort of anxiety disorder and having standard answers means she doesn't have to think up answers off the top of her head and it helps her feel less anxious when talking to the media.
I also notice they don't do the God thing when they lose - only when they win. That's strange to me as well. I wait to see what Sydney will do if she loses a big race. Especially one she was expected to win. I want to see if she will thank God as well.
Of course not, then it will be her fault.... God has an easy ride. All the glory and none of the work.

You know, if you believed that God loved you and saved you--I mean *really* believed that with all of your heart--then you would probably be driven to share that at every turn because it makes all the difference. It changes everything. It would be pretty important information to share. I think she just really believes it. It would be weird if she didn't share it.
Michael Jordan did not write his book. John Carlos did not write his book. Did S M L really write her book? If there is a co-writer or ghost writer, I am not interested.

There is zero chance that Sydney wrote the entire book 100% by herself with no input from a co-author or editor. That's a good thing. Most people don't know the best way to put their thoughts down on paper and they need professional help with writing a book.
No offense, but WTF does a 24 year old have to share about life?
I was born, I was a good athlete when I was little, I grew into an even better athlete as a teen, I won gold, I am still only 24 and have 60+ good years of living. What a boring story.

Another person with bad reading comprehension. I did not disparage editors. You need a ghost writer.
There is nothing wrong with an editor. Copy editor to review spelling and syntax. A senior editor or publisher to recommend deleting paragraphs, rewriting chapters and suggesting toning it down a bit. Eg. Publisher for Pat Conroy when he wrote, Great Santini told Conroy no one would believe a Marine commissioned officer was so awful to his wife and kids. P Conroy was told by publisher to tone it down regarding Officer Conroy.
Ghost writer and so-called co-writer is a different level. These so-called co-authors are no different than ghost writers except co-authors get to go on book tour.

“I’ve been telling everybody: I don’t feel like I have a whole lot of a story at 24 years old to share, but listen, if it encourages or inspires somebody, I’m happy to do it,” McLaughlin-Levrone said.
Sharing it is great, as long as you know your audience wants to hear it. If not, it is very wrong. It's like having your neighbors blasting music you despise from their front lawn. I would prefer she thank her parents, coaches, supporters, etc. You know-beings that actually exist.
