only if they went out at approx 4:40 mile pace for the first 200m, which is doubtful
He came thru the 3k in his 2 mile world best in 7:23.8 per Athletics Weekly. 3k WR is 7:20.67. His final 400m was @ 56 secs. I would guess his opening 400m was @ 59 secs.
What was his final 3k? Cannot find a definitive stat but had to have been @ 3 secs faster than his opening 3k which would put it at @ 7:21.
In the video he hits the 200 mark of the first lap in 32.6, which would mean he ran ~7:21.5 for the last 3k. He can absolutely break 7:20 if he wants to.
He's clearly undiagnosed autistic and just doesn't have the same filter that most people have. He just tells it as he sees it. It was easy for him, he just followed the pacemakers for most of if as he said. It would be the same for all of us (compared to say am unpaved champs race) it's just it's all relative - his best pace happens to be WR pace. I would rather somebody said what they were thinking than minced around with their words.
He isn't autistic. He is plain old ordinary arrogant.
Love the way he shrugged a couple of times right after the race.

I love watching this guy run and I love his post race comments, because you know they are going to trigger a certain "type" on these message boards. The dude is just a beast and must see TV. It's really cool getting to witness this type of greatness. Speaking of greatness....the kid Laros is coming and he put the world on blast!!!
Reynold Cheruyiot is stronger than Laros and he is only 8 months older than him. Let's look at their PB
1500m: R.Cheruyiot 3'30"30 vs Laros 3'31"25
2000m: R.Cheruyiot 4'48"13. vs Laros 4'49"68
5000m: R.Cheruyiot 13'04" (on the Road) vs Laros 13'23" (on track)
Why everybody is speaking about Laros while nobody admits Cheruyiot is superior?
Cheruiyot is basically a year older which is far from insignificant when you are 18-19 in an endurance sport. Secondly, you left out the 800m where Laros has a PB that is almost 5s faster than Cheruiyot, because that was inconvenient I suppose. Laros is more impressive because he is younger and has a unique combination of endurance AND ridiculous speed.
Sorry, mate! You have to be one of the most stupid letsrun.com-fans, thinking it's possible to set a world record and not get caught by the Athletics Anti Doping Unit. Are you completely unable to use common sense?
Here's Jakob for VG post Brussels (Google translated):
"- The whole race, I would say. I felt pretty strong and felt pretty sure I was going to break the record, but you don't have to run too fast at the start. He will attempt eight more world records in his career: 1,500 meters, one English mile, 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters, 10,000 meters, half marathon, marathon and 3,000 meter steeplechase have been mentioned. - I think all records are possible, but some require more than just showing up. I'm not saying I'm going to beat everyone, but I'm going to try my hardest. Because I think I can run faster than anyone has done before."
BRUSSEL (VG) Jakob Ingebrigtsen (22) gjorde små endringer i kulissene før hans andre verdensrekord. Han vil ha åtte rekorder til: Fra 1500 meter til maraton.

The stupid one is you. Jakob is doping. Look at the old Lance Armstrong threads. You are one of the fools.

All the world records are doped. How many of them have been caught by antidoping? Most dopers are never caught.
It´s always fun to break a record. This one qualifies as a world record and not as a world´s best. I know I was able to break this one, but I had some kind of virus ten days ago and I didn´t really know how I would be feeling today. However, I felt really good and ran a good race. To be honest this record wasn´t a difficult one for me. Sure, when you have to do it alone, it´s really tough, but I got great help from the pacemakers. Actually, they were able to help me more than I expected.
What a beast. The LRC crew had a nice debate on the post-race show about his 5000 WR prospects. Do you think he'd get it if he tried right now?
I like him and all but, what good are his artificial times if he couldn't even break Josh Kerr on the day that it mattered?
2000m and Two Miles are rarely run events. Even with Pacelights on his 3:27.14 1500m. He didn't have it in him to go after El G's World Record. This isn't a rant against Jakob. I'm just getting sick of these Artificial Times of people going fast but when Championship day comes, they get dropped or perform less than expected.
Came here to say this. He actually complimented the pacemakers which you would have never seen before.
That's ridiculous. Jakob has complimented the pacemakers many times, including after his 2 mile world record.
The question from LetsRun was totally unrelated. He scoffed at a need to run a non-paced practice 1500. And he would still scoff at that. In his mind he lost the 1500 only because he wasn't healthy. And I agree with that. From the outset of the second lap I was wondering what the heck he was doing. Jakob said later he knew he wasn't right after 500 or 600. He also made the perfect comparison to Belgrade World Indoors 2022. That's the only other major race he didn't look like himself. In Eugene he was fine. Tactical errors brought him down.
Here is a clip of Jakob saying the pacers did a good job in the 2 mile:

You obviously dont know much about sport,if you think that. All world records are set by dopers, and its easy to pass tests at the top.

Walker? Maybe, but I'm not so sure like you seem to be. Clarke? O'Brian? Doubell? Snell? Elliott? All are dopers? I don't buy this.

We are discussing the sport today. Doping has developed far beyond what it was several decades ago. It is a science and science never stands still. That's why it remains well ahead of attempts to stop or at least curb the practice.

Ah, OK. Today all records are doped. 10 years ago maybe not all records were doped? Or 20 years ago? 30 years? What was the last undoped record?
When Koch set her still standing WR 38 years ago, doping was not what it is today? El G run 3:26.00 with weaker doping than today? So looking on the improved shoes and tracks and wavelight technology, he was - what - 3 seconds faster than the best today?
