Haven't all of these women gone through the NCAA system running tons of 4x4s every year? I would assume they know the basics. That said, knowing the basics does not prevent somebody from being careless or sloppy.
Exactly. The 4x4 is run from Jr high school on up. This isn’t new to anyone nor should it be. It’s not a difficult skill
And yet athletes keep coming through and don’t seem to understand how to pass the baton or sometimes where the exchange zones even are. I mean, for Christ Baby Jesus’ sake, we have a runner running 2/3 of her leg in lane 2.

Never understood why track fans think this is rude. In most sports with media contracts athletes are contractually obligated to do press after every game, and get intense criticism (+ big fines) for skipping out on interviews after big losses.
If you want to be a major sport with serious media attention, meeting with the media win or lose is part of the deal.
